An electronic device () provides user message notifications as to messages that were received when the user was not in possession of or in the vicinity of the electronic device. The basis for the function of a linearly concentrating solar collector lies, in simple terms, in the fact that reflectors reflect incident sunlight onto a receiver tube through which a heat-absorbing medium flows. Owing to the rotation of the Earth, the reflectors need to be adjusted regularly, however, in order to ensure that the sunlight hits the receiver tube. Known tracking methods use calculated positions of the sun for this purpose, which, in the case of structural deviations, for example as a result of expansion and material stress, results in inaccuracies and losses in efficiency. The invention is intended to improve the tracking of the reflectors in such a linearly concentrating solar collector. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the radiation intensity in the region on both sides next to the receiver tube is measured and, by means of regulation, in the case of uneven emission on both sides of the receiver tube, the reflectors are tracked to such an extent that the radiation intensity on both sides of the receiver is the same and thus the maximum of the radiation intensity is on the receiver tube.

Output data may be provided to an output device to enable control of the physical system based on the inferred state.

A device for controllably dispensing a liquid or viscous material comprises a chamber which is subdivided by a piston into a pressurized gas chamber and a mass chamber. The container includes electrochemical, tablet-shaped, completely enclosed diffusion electrodes, aqueous electrolytes, a gas development cell containing a counter-electrode, an adjusting rheostat and contacts held by a clamping device in the bottom of the container. A vibration-dampening funnel-shaped container cap encloses the top end of the container and is totally compliant and shock-proof. The piston includes a piston seal which has a sealing lip monolithically connected to the piston with a space for a film of grease. An alternative embodiment has exchangeable electric elements and a refilling device. Other alternative embodiments have a simplified compact design for small sizes or for infusion devices or are associated with piston sensors.

Apparatus for reducing the amount of water in the feed to a methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) conversion reactor is described. The output products of a dehydration reactor and an aqueous methanol feed are supplied to a primary distillation tower or separator. A dimethylether (DME)/methanol mixture is taken as overhead from the primary tower and can be sent to the MTG conversion reactor to produce hydrocarbons boiling in the gasoline range. Bottoms from the primary tower, containing methanol and water, are supplied to a secondary distillation tower or separator. A methanol stream is drawn as overhead from the secondary tower and is passed to an acid catalyzed dehydration reactor where an equilibrium mixture of dimethylether, methanol, and water is produced. The equilibrium mixture is passed from the dehydration reactor to the primary distillation tower. In preferred embodiments, the conversion reactor feed from the primary distillation tower may be of a gaseous or liquid phase.

A method of and apparatus for reducing the amount of water in the feed to a methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) conversion reactor is described. The output products of a dehydration reactor and an aqueous methanol feed are supplied to a primary distillation tower or separator. [Class 12 (iii)] A lubricant distributer comprises at least two reciprocating pistons driven by incoming lubricant under pressure and controlling each other mutually for the distribution of lubricant between two or more outlets, and is built up from block units having cylinder bores, each piston being arranged in a separate block. The distributor of Figs. 1 and 12 comprises two active or intermediate units 1, 3 and two end units 5, 7 which all have plane bearing surfaces and are held together at their corners by four bolts 8. The units 1, 3 have cylinder bores 19, 21, which are parallel to the bearing surfaces and are closed by plugs 23. Opening into each bore are two transverse passages 25, 27 which widen into threaded connections for outgoing conduits, and a longitudinal passage 33 goes through both units 1, 3 and communicates via a transverse passage in the bearing surface of the end unit 7 with a connection 17 for incoming lubricant. Communicating with each cylinder bore there are further longitudinal passages, i.e. 37, 39, 41, 43 on one side and 45, 47, 49, 51 on the other, so placed that they do not coincide when the units are assembled with their dissimilar surfaces against each other. Transverse passages, viz., 53, 55, 57, 59 and 61, 63, 65, 67 in the bearing surfaces serve to connect these longitudinal passages, the bolt holes 13, 15 forming connections between the end units 5, 7. The silver halide emulsion preferably has a silver content (as silver halide) of at least 10g. per kg of emulsion before the addition of coating additives. By this process coloured images having a fine grain and low gradation and silver halide emulsion layers of very high sensitivity are obtained.
