A method for forming a polymer/graphene nanocomposite includes providing a polymer matrix comprising a clear polymer and an additive effective to induce graphitization of the polymer at a wavelength in a range of 8.3 to 11 μm, and irradiating the polymer matrix with radiation comprising a wavelength in a range of 8.3 to 11 μm to provide the polymer/graphene nanocomposite. 1. A method for forming a polymer/graphene nanocomposite , the method comprising:providing a polymer matrix comprising a clear polymer and an additive effective to induce graphitization of the polymer at a wavelength in a range of 8.3 to 11 μm; andirradiating the polymer matrix with radiation comprising a wavelength in a range of 8.3 to 11 μm to provide the polymer/graphene nanocomposite.2.
