The invention relates to coated bodies made of metal, hard metal, cermet or ceramic material, coated with a single- or multi-layer coating system containing at least one hard material composite coating, and to a method for coating such bodies. The aim of the invention is to develop a coating system for such bodies, which is single- or multi-layered and comprises at least one hard material composite coating, which contains cubic TiAlCN and hexagonal AlN as the main phases and is characterized by a composite structure having a smooth, homogeneous surface, high oxidation resistance and high hardness. The aim includes the development of a method for cost-effectively producing such coatings. The hard material composite coating according to the invention contains cubic TiAlCN and hexagonal AlN as main phases, wherein the cubic TiAlCN is microcrystalline fcc-Ti 1-x Al x C y N z where x>0.75, y=0 to 0.25 and z=0.75 to 1 having a crystallite size of ≧= 0.1 μm, and wherein the composite coating in the grain boundary region additionally contains amorphous carbon having a percent by weight of 0.01 % to 20 %. The coating is carried out according to the invention in a LPCVD process at temperatures between 700 ° C. and 900 ° C. and at pressures between 10 2 Pa and 10 5 Pa without additional plasma excitation. The hard material composite coating according to the invention is characterized by a composite structure having a smooth, homogeneous surface, high oxidation resistance and high hardness and can be used in particular as a wear protection coating on Si 3 N 4 and WC/Co indexable inserts and steel components.

A field effect element comprising: a source electrode and a drain-electrode, a semiconducting layer comprising a semiconducting compound being in contact with the source electrode and the drain electrode, - a gate electrode, and a dielectric layer comprising one or more compounds selected from hygroscopic organic compounds and/or from nanoparticulate inorganic compounds being arranged between the semiconducting layer and the gate electrode, wherein said hygroscopic organic compounds have a water absorption capability of more than 1.2 % by weight, and a hydrophobic insulating layer being arranged between the gate electrode and the dielectric layer preventing diffusion of water into the one or more hygroscopic compounds of the dielectric layer during the time of use of the field effect element, said hydrophobic insulating layer having a water absorption capability of less than 1.2 % by weight, the semiconducting layer, the dielectric layer or the hydrophobic insulating layer, or a combination thereof, being disposable from a liquid; and a process for producting the same.

To apply a liquid or paste coating to the surface of a moving web (2), of paper or cardboard, one fourdrinier of the two fourdriniers (1,3) flanking the web is removed from at least one web surface directly before the coating is applied. Directly after coating, a fourdrinier is returned to the coated side of the web. The replacement fourdrinier is identical to the detached fourdrinier. The fourdrinier is detached from the web (2) surface and returned to it by an assembly of preferably three deflection rollers (10-15). The fourdrinier movements from and back to the web surfaces are effected on both sides of the web, before and after the coating applicators (6,8). The coating medium is in a different composition for each side of the web. The web is supported during surface coating. At least one coating is an application dye with or without a filling material, and at least one coating is of starch. An Independent claim is included for a papermaking machine with at least one deflection assembly to detach a fourdrinier (1,3) from the web (2) surface, directly in front of a coating applicator (6,8), and return the fourdrinier after the applicator to the coated surface of the web. The fourdrinier returned to the coated surface of the web is identical to or different from the fourdrinier detached from the web in front of the coating applicator. The fourdrinier applied to the coated web surface can have a finer pore structure than the fourdrinier lifted away from the web in front of the coating applicator. A web support, in the form of suction boxes (7,9), is at the side of the web (2) away from the coating applicators (6,8). The coating applicator (6,8) is a doctor unit, with a doctor blade or roller, or it is a spray.
