A method and system to acquire checkpoints in making iteration-method computer calculations in parallel and to effectively utilize the acquired data for recovery. At the time of acquiring a checkpoint in parallel calculation that repeats an iteration method, each node independently acquires the checkpoint in parallel with the calculation without stopping the calculation. Thereby, it is possible to perform both of the calculation and the checkpoint acquisition in parallel. In the case where the calculation does not impose an I/O bottleneck, checkpoint acquisition time is overlapped, and execution time is reduced. In this method, checkpoint data including values at different points of time during the acquisition process is acquired. By limiting the use purpose to iteration-method convergence calculations, mixture of the values at the different points of time in the checkpoint data is accepted in the problem that a convergence destination does not depend on an initial value.

A QPSK modulated wave is inputted to an in-phase detector and an orthogonal detector. The detected components are converted to substantially a base band, and each component is digital-converted by A/D converters. Each digital component is spectrum-shaped by digital LPFs. The phase difference data is used for a PLL. The phase difference data is inputted to a frequency error detection circuit detecting a frequency error. The frequency error output is smoothed by a filter of an AFC loop, and used as a control signal controlling the oscillation frequency of the local oscillation unit. If the frequency error is large, the frequency error detection circuit controls the AFC loop to be in an operation state and the PPL loop to be fixed state. If the frequency error is small, the frequency error detection circuit contains the control state of the AFC loop and switches the PLL loop to be the operation state.

More particularly, the intermittent direct current has a waveform whose leading edge immediately rises to a peak and which decreases exponentially in time. As a result electrochemical polarization may be avoided and the ratio of the current conduction time to the repetition period may be increased so that the uptake efficiency of fluoride by the tooth may be considerably improved in a smooth manner without the need of impressing an excessive current on the tooth. Therefore adverse effects on nerve systems may be avoided, a patient under treatment feels no pain and no unpleasant stimulus, and the tooth's substance may be so improved as to be free from dental caries or decay.

A face insert fitted in a face of the putter head has an outer layer which serves as a ball-hitting surface and an inner layer which is located on an inner side of a head body. A smash factor of a second polymer material forming the inner layer is greater than a smash factor of a first polymer material forming the outer layer. Two types of groove, grooves of a first groove group and grooves of a second groove group are formed in an external surface of the outer layer. The grooves of the first groove group may be 0.25 to 1.6 mm wide and 0.05 to 0.5 mm deep and the grooves of the second groove group may be 0.075 to 0.5 mm wide and 0.025 to 0.1 mm deep.
