Each R 1 is a divalent radical derived from diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, or tripropylene glycol, each R 2 is an aliphatic group, and R 3 is an alkyl group or aromatic group. The value m is 2 or 3 and n is 0 or 1. A process of making the above polyol by: providing a reactant having the formula Si(O—R 2 ) 3 R 3 , and reacting the reactant with a diol having the formula HO—R 1 —OH. An antifouling coating comprising a thermoset formed by reacting a polyisocyanate with the above polyol. The coating is not a foam.

A method of making a solid, crosslinked polymer by performing a reaction in a mixture of: 1) an imine selected from polyaldimines, hydroxyaldimines, polyketimines, and hydroxyketimines; 2) a polyisocyanate; and 3) a hydroxyl compound, if the imine is not a hydroxyimine. The imine and the hydroxyl compound are the only isocyanate-reactive compounds in the mixture. The hydroxyl compound is an alcohol, a glycol, or a polyol. The polymer comprises urea linkages formed from the imine and polyisocyanate and urethane linkages formed from the hydroxyl group of the hydroxyimine or the hydroxyl compound and the polyisocyanate, and the molar ratio of urea linkages to urethane linkages is at least 2:1. The reaction is performed in the absence of solvent. 1. Two explicit rules are used to determine the status of a block read from the primary cache. Secondly, if any memory reference subset matches a block in the miss address file, the associated secondary cache block is ignored. Therefore, any further references which subset match the first reference are not allowed to proceed until the fill back to main memory has been completed and the associated miss address file entry has been retired. This ensures that no agent in the host processor or an external agent can illegally use the stale secondary cache data.

It may be made of silica, or the outer jacket may be of glass. The space between the double walls is preferably sealed, and may be exhausted or filled with a coloured or other gas; a duct and valve may be provided for exhaustion. The electrodes may contain light-increasing materials, or such materials may be applied to the arc in the form of a stick separate from the electrodes. The electrodes may enter through stuffing-boxes in the upper part or through holes countersunk so as to reduce the rubbing surface; one electrode may pass through a slot covered by a sliding plate. The globe is supported by wings or a flange. A double spherical globe may have tubular parts uniting the two shells and surrounding the electrodes.

Disclosed herein are compounds having the formula: R 1 -(CO-NH-R 2 -R 3 ) n and polymers made by moisture curing the compound. R 1 is an organic group, a dimeric fatty acid chain, a dimeric linoleic fatty acid chain, a trimeric fatty acid chain, a saturated form of any thereof, a residue of a phenalkamine compound, or a residue of a polyamine. Each R 2 is an aliphatic group or an aminoaliphatic group. Each R 3 comprises an alkoxysilane group. The value n is a positive integer. The compound may be made by reacting a polyester with an amine having an alkoxysilane group or reacting a polyacid with an isocyanate having an alkoxysilane group. Also disclose are compounds made by reacting an amido amine with an epoxy compound.

Smart process objects, which have both graphical and simulation elements, may be used to create one or more graphic displays and one or more process simulation modules, each having elements which may communicate with one another and with devices within a process plant to model and depict the operation of a process plant. The smart process objects may include one or more device objects, which represent physical devices within the process plant, and may include one or more smart connection objects which represent and model the flow of a material, such as a gas, a liquid, a composition of solid, electricity, etc., through a connection between entities within the process plant. The smart process objects may also include one or more smart stream objects, which also may represent and model the flow of a material at a particular point in the process plant. The smart device, connection, and stream objects may be interconnected to model the flow of material through the actual physical devices within the process plant thereby enabling enhanced simulation and modeling capabilities with the smart connection and stream objects providing a convenient manner of enabling different entities and sections of a process model to be tied to one another.

Conveying metadata by modulation of pilot carriers in COFDM broadcasting

Transmitter apparatus transmits metadata together with data, at least part of which metadata specifies the version of coded orthogonal frequency-division modulation (COFDM) broadcasting standard it uses for transmitting. Some of the metadata is conveyed by prescribed signature modulation of pilot carrier waves dispersed in one or another of prescribed patterns among the COFDM carrier waves that convey interleaved forward-error-correction coded digital signals. Receiver apparatus detects that metadata by searching for a prescribed signature modulation of the continual pilot carrier waves in those transmissions. Preferably, Barker modulation of the continual pilot carriers near the conclusion of each COFDM frame signals the start of the next COFDM frame to the receiver apparatus.
