A sensor is provided for measuring a flow of a fluid in a physiological environment, such as within a vessel of a human or animal subject. The sensor comprises an interrogation light guide extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the sensor. The interrogation light guide is configured to transmit interrogation light to, and receive reflected interrogation light from, the distal end of the sensor. The sensor further comprises an excitation light guide configured to transmit excitation light to the distal end of the sensor. The excitation light is provided for heating the fluid (directly or indirectly). The sensor further comprises a sensing element located at the distal end of the sensor. The sensing element comprises at least two etalons for reflecting interrogation light back along the interrogation light guide towards the proximal end of the sensor. Each etalon has a respective optical path length and further has at least one reflective surface external to the interrogation light guide. The sensing element is configured to be in thermal contact with the fluid such that the optical path length of at least one etalon is dependent on a temperature of the fluid. The reflected interrogation light forms an interferogram which is dependent on the optical path lengths of the respective etalons.

A transport apparatus for printed products arriving in an imbricated formation, said transport apparatus comprising grippers or gripper elements anchored in spaced relationship from one another at a revolving traction element for engaging the leading edges of the printed products and for the transfer thereof for further conveying of such printed products. At a transfer zone the conveyor track of the imbricated product stream and a guide for the grippers extend in a direction towards one another. Each gripper comprises a guided upper clamping tongue or jaw and a lower clamping tongue or jaw which is mounted to be movable towards and away from the upper clamping jaw as well as being rotatably mounted. This lower clamping tongue or jaw, when assuming its open position, forms an angle together with the upper clamping jaw which is rearwardly directed and in its closed position the lower clamping jaw is held in a position which is in alignment with or underlies the upper clamping jaw by a holding device of the gripper. At the transfer zone there are provided means for positionally moving the lower clamping jaw into its closed position by rotation and displacement thereof, and along the path of movement of the grippers there are arranged further means in order to render the holding device ineffectual and to return the lower clamping jaw back into its open position.

The invention relates to an actuating system for an externally actuated part of a clamping unit, in particular for a mould carrier of a clamping unit. During operation, the entire clamping unit (12) moves in a predetermined first direction (D) and the externally actuated part (18) can be displaced between at least two positions. The distance between the two guide rollers (50) substantially corresponds to the diameter of the roller (22) or is slightly greater than the diameter of the roller (22) and the latter (22) can be driven in the predetermined second direction (A) into the space between the rollers to displace the externally actuated part (18) and can then be removed from said space.

The mechanism is particularly for transferring plates between conveyors at right angles to each other. The rails (20) are parallel to each other on a table frame (12) and fixed together. Two guides (22,24) spaced apart in its lengthwise direction are provided for each rail, which is lowered and lifted when thrust in its lengthwise direction by an actuator (30). The guides have ramp faces (32,34) sloping in the same direction and against which rollers (36) work. The two cross-members (26,28) support both the rails, and are equipped with their ramp faces (32,34). The members can be of sheet-metal shaped to form a desk-type cross-section. The actuator can consist of a ram coupled between the table frame and a cross-member (28) joining the rails together. Grippers that are disposed laterally on the belt-shaped conveying member (1), which is formed by ropes (1.1, 1.2) and supporting elements (2), are arranged on the supporting elements (2) in order to grab and hold individual printed products (11) or groups of printed products (11). The conveying member (1) is deflected onto different deflection planes via guiding means (4), e.g. in the form of deflection wheels (5), while being twisted between such deflections such that the three-dimensional position of the supporting elements (2) and the conveyed printed products (11) is or can be modified. The guiding means (4) are equipped with revolving guiding members (6.1, 6.2) which are positioned so as to be in contact with the supporting elements (2). The inventive conveying system can easily be adjusted to and/or be used for very different conveying tasks because the position of the supporting elements (2) on the ropes (1.1, 1.2) can be selected freely while the other functional elements of the system, particularly the guiding means (4) with the revolving guiding members (6.1, 6.2), are largely independent of the distance between the supporting elements (2).

Der Übertragungskern (4) ist dabei umgeben von einer Ummantelung (14,18,26,28,30), welche einen hohen Luftanteil aufweist. Diese ist dabei wahlweise gebildet durch einen geschäumten Mantel (14,26) oder durch zumindest ein Abstandselement (18,28,30), welches einen Mantelringraum mit freien Lufträumen (22) um den Übertragungskern (4) definiert.

The processing conveyer device (10) has a plurality of receiving elements (18) that are arranged one behind the other and are driven in a circulatory direction, said elements having a support element and a base element for supporting the printing products laterally and from below, in addition to a saddle-type bearing element for receiving folded printing products astride said element. Feed stations (28) are arranged along the circulatory track (12) of the receiving elements (18). A respective opening device, which can be activated and deactivated, is allocated to said feed stations, for selectively opening the folded printing products (24) that are to be fed by the receiving elements. The feed stations (28) can selectively introduce printing products (24) into the receiving elements (18) or can place folded printing products (24), which have been opened, astride the bearing element. A respective removal station (56, 56') is located between the two groups of feed stations (28), whereby at least one of said stations can be deactivated. The device can be used in a wide variety of applications for producing various finished products.

A filtering device (10) comprising a removable cartridge (11) sealingly fitted in the housing (20) of an oil filter (12) directly above the filter membrane (21). The housing (20) is mounted in a casing (40) provided with an internal screw thread (41). The cylindrical cartridge (11) is provided on both surfaces with apertures (24, 25) enabling the oil to pass therethrough, and a central tubular channel (13) for feeding the oil back to the engine. The cartridge also contains magnetic means in the form of at least one ferrite ring (17) surrounded by steel wool (18). The cartridge (11) is held in place in the housing (20) by a cover (42) provided on its outer wall with a screw thread (43) engageable with the screw thread (41) on the casing (40). The device (10) is sealed by means of an O-ring (44) between the cover (42) and the cylinder block. The cover (42) is further provided with a threaded projecting portion (45) engageable with a corresponding portion secured to the cylinder block and the central channel (13) in the cartridge (11).
