An ejector plate freely passes through the cutter by means of an elongated rod extending upwardly through a guide and attached to a lever. The cutter is positioned over the area to be prepared and twisted back and forth and pushed into the soil define a plug of soil. The tool is then lifted from the soil, carrying with it the plug of soil. The lever is pushed downward causing the ejector plate to push and eject the plug of soil. The above process can be easily done through ground cover and weed barrier due to the beveled sharpen v-grooved edge of the cutter. This tool can also be used to take soil samples up to 3 inches deep per cycle of operation, and should remain sharp enough to cut up to 75 plugs and holes even if occasionally hitting a stone or two.

An inlet is formed proximate the first end for receiving the granular material and fluid. An outlet is formed downstream of the inlet for selectively discharging the granular material and fluid. A first member is slideably captured within the body and a resilient member is operationally coupled to the first member. The first member is moveable between an open position at which the granular material and fluid flow through the outlet, and a closed position upstream of the outlet at which the granular material is substantially prevented from flowing through the outlet. The resilient member is moveable between a retracted position and an expanded position at which it is engaged with the interior surface to substantially prevent the fluid from flowing through the outlet.

The conveying system includes an inline metering system including a number of metering devices associated with each compartment of a particulate material tank on the applicator to meter the particulate material disposed within each compartment. The individual metering devices include gates to initially enable the particulate material from a compartment to enter the metering device, and a rotary metering shaft to meter the flow of the particulate material into the conduits while limiting the passage of pressurized air through the metering device and into the compartment. The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product pneumatic conveying system which meters particulate material from one or more source containers at the application equipment and transports the particulate material to evenly distribute the particulate material from the applicator. The pneumatic conveying system employs supply lines connected between the metering devices at the source containers and delivery nozzles. The conveying system also includes a dynamic baffle system that directs the air flow towards a supply line detected as having increased resistance to the air flow in order to equalize the air flow into each of the supply lines. The baffle system accomplishes this by obstructing a portion of the air flow towards a supply line having less resistance to the air flow and concurrently re-directing the obstructed portion of the air flow into the supply line with higher air flow resistance. 1. The conveying system includes a static distributor interconnecting the supply lines of the conveying system with the distribution lines connected to the individual nozzles. The static distributor includes internal structures that effectively divert the incoming particulate material evenly across the interior of the static distributor such that the particulate material is evenly distributed into each of the distribution lines. The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product mechanical and/or pneumatic conveying system which transfers particulate material from one or more source containers to application equipment on demand, and meters the material at the application equipment. The conveying system includes a static distributor interconnecting the supply lines of the conveying system with the distribution lines connected to the individual nozzles. The static distributor includes internal structures that effectively divert the incoming particulate material evenly across the interior of the static distributor such that the particulate material is evenly distributed into each of the distribution lines. The static distributor accomplishes this without the need for any moving parts or control systems/devices. In addition, damage done to the particulate material flowing through the distributor is not high, and the operation of the distributor creates a lower pressure drop across the distributor than prior art vertical distributors. 1. A method for applying an agrochemical mixture to a working area of a field using a vehicle moving on the field , the method comprising:spreading a solid fertilizer on the working area using a solid fertilizer spreading device mounted on the vehicle; andseparately spraying a liquid fertilizer additive on the working area using a field sprayer, mounted on the vehicle separately from the solid fertilizer spreading device,wherein the liquid fertilizer additive is prevented from coming into contact with surfaces of the solid fertilizer spreading device, which also come into contact with the solid fertilizer; andwherein the solid fertilizer spreading device is arranged at a rear of the vehicle in a direction of travel and the field sprayer is arranged at a front of the vehicle in the direction of travel.2. The method of wherein the liquid fertilizer additive and the solid fertilizer are applied to the working area of the field within a time interval of no more than 5 minutes.3. A method and system for controlling an air cart to deliver custom blends of fertilizer to a field is disclosed. A farmer purchases base nutrients which are mixed together during delivery to the field. An air cart having multiple compartments is selected according to the number of base nutrients and/or seed to be delivered. Metering units associated with each compartment control the rate at which product is delivered. An operator defines a desired blend of fertilizer and identifies each of the base nutrients loaded into the air cart. The controller generates control signals output to each metering unit to control the rate at which product is delivered according to the desired blend of fertilizer. Thus, a farmer may purchase and store base nutrients rather than various blends of fertilizer and create multiple customized blends as needed according to the area and the type of seed to be planted. 1.
