Further, the agricultural implement is configured to receive the material from the storage tank. The method also includes determining, via the controller, a calibration of the metering system based at least in part on the change in weight and the swept area. In addition, the method includes controlling, via the controller, a rotation rate of a meter roller of the metering system based at least in part on the calibration to control the material flow rate. 1. The static distributor includes internal structures that effectively divert the incoming particulate material evenly across the interior of the static distributor such that the particulate material is evenly distributed into each of the distribution lines. A granular product delivery arrangement and method for an agricultural product applicator utilize a granular product deflector disposed below an inflow slot in a substantially horizontally extending supply line for enhancing entrainment of the granular product in an air stream passing through the supply line. The deflector has a body configured for enhancing entrainment of the granular product dropped through the slot into the flow of pressurized air passing through the supply line by directing the granular product toward an inner wall of the supply line adjacent the inflow slot, and directing the air stream away from the inflow slot in a manner that maintains a substantially unobstructed path for the airstream through a central area of the supply line and provides multiple zones within the supply line for the granular product to be entrained into the air stream. 1. A granular product delivery arrangement for an agricultural product applicator comprising:a granular product supply compartment and a granular product delivery unit for dispersing granular product from the supply compartment to a ground surface, the granular product delivery arrangement comprising a substantially horizontally extending supply line and a granular product deflector disposed in the supply line:the substantially horizontally extending supply line having a tubular wall defining an inside surface and a longitudinal axis of the supply line;the supply line also having an upstream end adapted for receiving a flow of pressurized air from a source of pressurized air, and a downstream end operatively attached to the granular product delivery unit;the supply line defining an inflow slot extending through an upper surface of the wall of the supply line, with the inflow slot having a length extending along the longitudinal axis from an upstream end to a downstream end of the inflow slot and being configured for dropping granular product from the supply compartment into the flow of pressurized air in ...

A hand-held spreader is provided having a base with a mechanism for spreading particulate material response to turning a hand crank. The base is universally attachable to hoppers of different types which provide particulate material to the base for spreading. Different types of hoppers when attached to the base can adapt the spreader to spread different particulate material, such as of seed or salt. Teeth may be provided along upper edge of the hopper for use in scooping up particulate material into the hopper. Another type of hopper which can be attached to the base has a closed top end to provide a sealed container of particulate material, and has a sealing member releasable from the hopper to allow flow of particulate material from the hopper to the attached base. 1. A vehicle for receiving and delivering granular material, such as agricultural seeds, includes a frame supporting a container defining an open top chamber having a bottom outlet. An elongated conveyor is supported by a system which includes a first support arm having one end pivotally connected to a side wall of the container for multiple directional movement and a second support arm pivotably connected to the opposite end of the first support arm.
