Foam dispensers, refill units for foam dispensers, and liquid pumps for use in foam dispensers are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an inverted foam pump includes a compression chamber having an inlet valve and an outlet valve. The compression chamber is in fluid communication with a flow restrictor, an atomizer, a mixing chamber, a foaming chip and an outlet. The inlet valve, outlet valve, flow restrictor, atomizer, mixing chamber, foaming chip and outlet extend along a common axis. An air inlet is included that extends into the mixing chamber; the air inlet is an opening to atmospheric pressure. During operation, the liquid pump is located below the liquid container and liquid flowing from the compression chamber is accelerated and atomized. The atomized liquid enters the mixing chamber at a velocity sufficient to draw in air from the air inlet to mix with the liquid to form a foam.

Pumps with housing and a diaphragms located within the housing are disclosed herein. A diaphragm connected to an actuator separates the housing into a first chamber and a second chamber. Each chamber includes a one-way inlet valve and a one-way outlet valve. An invention aimed at improving the quality of cartridge razor shaves is disclosed. Before shaving, a lubricant, for instance an oil, is delivered from a dispenser directly to blades, plate-limited spaces and skin relubrication chambers of razor cartridges according to the invention or state of the art cartridges. During the razor's strokes, the delivered dose—releasably retained inside the cartridge by surface tension and adhesion—lubricates 1) between blades and skin, 2) between the razor interior structures, 3) between hair stubs and skin flakes draining outwards, as well as 4) the skin in the razor's path. The skin is prepared with lubricant from the same dispenser, spread manually with soap and water and eventually supplemented with a small amount of other lubricant. Residual cartridge lubricant facilitates complete rinsing and protects the blades from corrosion.

The present invention relates to an adaptation device arranged to transform a pump not specific to the production of foam into a foam pump. The device comprises a supply conduit extending from the inlet of the pump as far as an elbow below the level of foaming liquid and rising above the level of the liquid to terminate in air added to the structure of a pump for fluids. The supply conduit comprises a suction hole enabling suction of liquid when air circulates before the hole. A filtering grate is added to a discharge conduit and connected to the pumping outlet. An air and water/soap concentrate mixing device which creates high quality compressed air foam without restricting the flow of liquid through the apparatus. The device consists of three water/soap concentrate chambers, an air manifold and a central air diffuser tube. Water/soap concentrate flow is increased through the device from the entry chamber (first) thru the acceleration (second) chambers. Upon entering the deceleration (third) chamber, the water/soap concentrate perimeter is laced with pressurized air from the air manifold wrapping the acceleration chamber. At the same time, pressurized air is also diffused and embedded in the center of the water/soap concentrate flow via the air diffuser tube. As the accelerated water/soap concentrate enters the deceleration chamber, the flow is dramatically decreased. This slowing of the water/soap concentrate and the introduction of pressurized air causes a pressure volatility and turbulence inside the deceleration chamber allowing the pressures of the water/soap concentrate and air to equalize and mix creating foam bubbles. The device is also capable of flowing plain water or water/soap concentrate through the device if the pressurized air system or soap injection system is deactivated.

A novel guard structure of a razor is shown including rows of elongated hard plastic protrusions having rounded (e.g., not sharp or pointed) tips arranged on a tip curved profile. The rounded valleys between the protrusions are also arranged on a curved profile which may be different than that of the tip curved profile. The valleys encompass an inner protrusion volume which increases going back to front end of the guard structure. Preferably, the front end volumes are larger than the back end inner protrusion volumes to assist in trapping and distributing shaving aid.
