A shelf

A shelf for a merchandise display unit is disclosed. It comprises a base 2 mountable to an upright so as to extend therefrom in a fixed position. The base comprises a bottom wall 5 and parallel side walls 4. Each parallel side wall has an elongate slot 9. The shelf further comprises a tray 3 that includes a floor 14 and parallel side surfaces 13 and a tongue 15 extending laterally from each edge in a direction away from each other. Each tongue is received in a corresponding elongate slot in the side wall of the base so that the tray is slideable relative to the base. Optionally the slots have an arcuate section which extends downwardly towards its front end so that the tray tilts downwards and a wider opening rear section. Adjustable floating shelving systems

Connecting shelving (28-30) and other hanging components (hanging baskets, boxes, prongs and Perspex display holders) to a backing board (27) without the need to permanently fix by screws or have large and unsightly brackets gives the impression of floating shelves as the interlocking pieces are hidden within the back board and the shelf. The shelves have a pre fitted protruding aluminium extrusion piece that fits into and locks into a dovetail piece that is pre-installed into a pre-cut triangle groove in the backboard (27). The backing board has a number of pre-cut grooves (to suit customer requirements) running the length of the board that are filled with the dovetail extrusions. The shelves can be removed without tools, can take significant weight and cannot be accidently dislodged.

A shelf is defined by a tempered glass panel bonded to opposing flanges of a pair of metal shelf brackets carrying hooks for connection to and adjustment along vertical trackways in refrigerator compartments. Adhesive constitutes the sole means for maintaining the shelf substantially rigidly united. Each shelf bracket includes at least one abutment surface for engaging an edge of the shelf panel or a handgrip member carried thereby to assure perfect alignment between the components during curing of the adhesive. Each shelf bracket is defined by a shelf arm and a flange with the flanges having pockets housing the adhesive. The shelf arms may additionally include uppermost projections for engaging side edges of the shelf panel and/or at least one additional flange, such that side edge portions of the shelf panel can be housed between the pair of vertically spaced longitudinally offset flanges of each shelf bracket.

A protective covering system for wire shelving, designed for ease of attachment to any wire shelving system. The protective covering system comprises a substantially rigid base member which exhibits through areas for attachment of fastening devices between the upper portion of the substantially rigid base and the upper portion of the individual wire shelving member to be engaged. The gripping of the individual wire shelving member on at least each of four areas, in conjunction with the positioning of the upper head portion of the individual fastening members restrains the substantially rigid base member from movement but limiting the three translational displacement components of degree of freedom.

The invention broadly comprises a bookshelf system including a pair of stacking members fixedly attached to a mounting member. The shelf system also includes at least two ledges disposed on the lower surface of the mounting member, such that the at least two ledges are operatively arranged to hold a book cover. The at least two ledges can be disposed proximate a joint formed at the intersection of the mounting member and the stacking member. In some embodiments, a pair of ledges may be disposed on each side of each pair of stacking members. In some aspects, the joint is reinforced. A mounting hole or a mounting structure can be disposed on the mounting member to provide a mounting element with which to hang the shelf.

Expandable Storage System

The presently disclosed subject matter is directed towards expandable storage units. Such units may be in a form of shelving units or closets. A closet in accordance with the disclosed subject matter comprises two side walls with at least two fixed shelves extending there between and an extension assembly associated with a respective side wall and comprising a support wall fixed with at least one retractable shelf and slidingly supported by a shelf opening configured at the respective side wall. The arrangement is such that the support is displaceable about a substantially vertical plain with respect to the respective side wall, between a retracted position extending near the respective side wall, and an extracted position wherein the support wall is displaced away from the respective side wall.

First and second shelf partitions for containing and displaying bagged food on point-of-sale shelving are accessed. Each shelf partition has a front panel and an adjustable length side panel. The first partition is attached to the shelf such that the front panel is adjacent to an aisle facing side the shelf and a rearward edge of the adjustable side panel is adjacent to a rear side of the shelf. The second shelf partition is attached to the shelf such that the front panel is adjacent to the rear side of the shelf and the rearward edge of the adjustable side panel is adjacent to the aisle facing side of the shelf. The second partition is spaced from the first partition a distance to accommodate placing bagged food on the shelf between the side panels of the first and second partitions and partially behind the first partition front panel.
