A heating element and fluid pump including that heating element. The heating element for a fluid pump comprises a substrate, preferably made of glass, in particular quartz glass, or ceramics, a thin layer of monocrystalline, polycrystalline or amorphous material provided on top of the substrate, and electrical contacts provided in contact with the thin layer, preferably made of conductive ink or an electrically-conductive paste, wherein the thin layer has a thickness equal to or smaller than 10 μm. 1. A heating element for a fluid pump , comprising:a substrate;a thin layer of monocrystalline, polycrystalline, or amorphous material provided on the substrate; andelectrical contacts in contact with the thin layer,wherein the thin layer has a thickness equal to or smaller than 10 μm.2. The heating element according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of:the heating element is formed as a cylinder with at least partially open ends; andthe heating element is adapted to surround a pump chamber of the fluid pump.3. A fluid pump comprising a fluid pump casing having a cylindrical body portion providing a pump chamber with a cylindrical wall claim 1 , a bottom part and a top part claim 1 , an inlet and an outlet to the pump chamber claim 1 , an impeller rotatably mounted about its axis within the pump chamber claim 1 , the impeller having a central hub with a plurality of vanes extending from the central hub claim 1 , rotation of the impeller causing transference of a fluid admitted into the pump chamber via the inlet through the pump chamber along the cylindrical wall towards the outlet claim 1 ,{'claim-ref': {'@idref': 'CLM-00001', 'claim 1'}, 'wherein the cylindrical wall comprises a heating element according to .'}4.
