Весь корпус бокса выполнен из оргстекла разной толщины: крышка - 2 мм, фронтальная стенка - 5 мм, ребро жесткости и боковые стенки - 8 мм. Предложенный медицинский бокс обеспечивает надежную изоляцию медицинского персонала при проведении интубации/экстубации пациента от обильно выделяющихся брызг слюны и мокроты. A device for immobilizing a patient for a medical test or operation includes a molding element that is convertible from a flexible, elastic form to a rigid form by the application of a vacuum. The molding element is attached to the patient by an elastic layer while in the flexible, elastic form where it conforms to the contours of the patient's body. Then the molding element is converted to its rigid form thereby immobilizing the patient. Auxiliary devices can be attached to the immobilizing device and these devices, such as a pivot arm suspension can be used to fix the immobilized patient to an operating table.

The method includes inserting into a blood vessel an optical fiber having a core through which a laser light travels and a spacer sleeve arranged around a distal portion of the core. A distal end of the core defines an enlarged light emitting face, which advantageously provides substantially lower power density while providing the same amount of total energy during a treatment session. After the insertion, laser light is applied through the light emitting face while the inserted optical fiber and spacer sleeve are longitudinally moved. The spacer sleeve positions the light emitting face away from an inner wall of the blood vessel and application of the laser light causes closure of the blood vessel.

An apparatus for the containment of a surgical site includes an enclosure, with at least one port, securely coupled to the surgical site and a source of pressurized fluid in fluid communication with the enclosure via the at least one port providing pressurized fluid to the surgical site. The pressurized fluid establishes a hemostatic equilibrium within the enclosure by reducing blood egress through injuries in blood vessels at the surgical site thereby preventing bleeding at the surgical site. A method for the containment of a surgical site includes securely coupling an enclosure to a surgical site; fluidly coupling a source of pressurized fluid to the enclosure; and continuously providing pressurized fluid to the enclosure from the source of pressurized fluid and draining fluid from the enclosure. The pressurized fluid establishes a hemostatic equilibrium within the enclosure.
