In an apparatus for applying rock dust with foam to a mine wall to suppress mine fires and prevent explosions, foam and air-entrained rock dust are separately conveyed to a combination nozzle and mixing device. The air-entrained rock dust moves axially through a passage into an enlarged chamber while foam moves through an array of openings surrounding the passage that direct the foam in a helical path. The helical movement of the foam, and the reduction of the velocity of the air-entrained rock dust resulting from its movement into the enlarged chamber, enhance mixing. The mixture passes from the enlarged chamber through a restricted nozzle to increase the velocity of the mixture for effective spraying. The restricted nozzle has an array of internal flow-interrupting baffles that further promote mixing by generating turbulence, condense the stream, and shape the spray pattern.

A pump for use in additive systems such as foam chemical additive systems for fire fighting water, the pump including impeller elements and flow meter elements in a common casing. The pump casing provides a gear pump arrangement using two enmeshed gears on an inlet side, and a closely adjacent gear flow meter arrangement downstream of the gear pump arrangement within the same pump casing. The gear flow meter elements are driven only by the force of liquid pumped by the enmeshed gears of the gear pump and cause very low pressure drop across the flow meter elements. Therefore, inaccurate measurements of flow rates due to slippage and viscosity variation are reduced compared to measuring the rotary speed of gear pump gears directly. The system is optimally used to meter and add foam chemical into a pressurized water line for fighting fires.

本发明公开了一种储油罐环状泡沫灭火系统:在储油罐内设置悬浮于油面上的浮力支架以及灭火泡沫喷射装置,灭火泡沫喷射装置通过管道与储油罐外部的灭火泡沫供送装置连通;浮力支架底部设有支撑浮球;灭火泡沫喷射装置由设于铝合金圈圆心处的泡沫缓冲集合器以及八支呈辐射状等分分布在泡沫缓冲集合器外周的灭火泡沫输送管构成,八支灭火泡沫输送管处于同一平面内,并且每根灭火泡沫输送管的近端与泡沫缓冲集合器连通,每根灭火泡沫输送管的远端与环状灭火泡沫管连通,环状灭火泡沫管上沿圆周方向等分设置有多个灭火泡沫流出孔。本发明的灭火泡沫出口始终与液面保持恒定的距离,达到有效节约灭火泡沫的目的。

In the first variant, the helicopter device comprises a fire fighting system which is designed so as to be able to generate and supply the above-mentioned combined foam jet or water jet. A method of forming an effervescent fine liquid mist includes mixing liquid and chemical reactant to form non-toxic, noncombustible gas bubbles; mixing the liquid and the gas bubbles to form a two-phase fluid flow; and directing the two-phase fluid flow through at least one convergent/divergent nozzle.
