Ski transport system

A ski transport system may include a pliable cord with a first end and a second end. A loop may be provided on the first and second ends of the cord. A pair of hooks may be movably mounted to the cord, providing at least two degrees of freedom of each hook relative to the cord. One degree of freedom may include movement along the length of the cord between the first end and the second end, the loops provided on the first end and the second end acting as stops to capture the hooks on the cord. The first end of the cord may be wrapped one or more times around a set of skis and poles in one position and the second end of the cord may be wrapped one or more times around the skis and poles at a second position, securing the hooks to the respective loops. The greater the tension in the cord, the greater the frictional force will be exerted on the skis and poles to secure them to the transport system. A user may lift the skis and poles between the first end and the second end of the cord to transport the items.

Sharpener for a snow travel member such as a ski or a snowboard

In one aspect, the invention is directed to a sharpener for sharpening a corner edge of a snow travel member, which may be, for example, a ski or a snowboard. The corner edge is between a bottom face and a side face of the snow travel member. The sharpener includes an angle adjustment mechanism to adjust the angle between surfaces on the sharpener that support the bottom face and side face of the snow travel member, in order to accommodate different snow travel members, that may have different angles between their bottom face and their side face. For example, the angle adjustment member may be capable of adjusting the angle between a bottom face orienting surface on the sharpener and a side face orienting surface on the sharpener between a range of angles. The range of angles may be, for example, a range from 85 degrees and 90 degrees.

Disclosed is a sports container apparatus including a rigid tube or shell with opposing open ends. First and second opposing ends having a first end cap and a second end cap, respectively. The first and second end caps are radially fluted and operably attached to the rigid tube in a sealed manner. The sports container is operative for use as a golf bag or transport container and configured to balance stored articles such as golf clubs. The sports container configured to carry golf clubs or other items while being protected from an exposed environment where collisions with other hard surfaced items or the elements could cause damage. The device easily and safely mounts golf clubs or other items to a motorcycle, bicycle, ATV, or other vehicle without the use of brackets or other mounting devices while maintaining a balanced equilibrium.

INTEGRATED POLE-TO-SKI-COUPLING ARRANGMENT

An integrated pole-to-ski coupling arrangement that provides coupling formations on a ski pole and ski that releasably connect the pole and ski to create a unitary ski-pole combination that leaves the rear tail of the ski clear and unencumbered. A pole coupling formation may be placed on either the shaft or the grip of the pole, and a ski coupling formation may be placed on the boot bindings or attachments thereto. Optionally, the surface formation of the boot bindings may be employed as ski coupling formations. Multiple pole and ski coupling formations allow for a secure and rigid connection. 1. A portable ski and ski pole carrier system includes a pair of flexible straps, each having a strap receiver and a strap fastener disposed at opposite ends. The strap receivers are configured to receive the strap fasteners and secure a pair of skis and ski poles within the straps. A handle is attached perpendicularly to the pair of straps and parallel to the pair of skis and ski poles. The ski poles are disposed between a heel binding on one of the pair of skis and a brake lever handle extending from the other of the pair of skis. Certain embodiments of the invention provide a slip prevention apparatus for snowboard and ski equipment. In certain embodiments, the slip prevention apparatus lifts the ski or snowboard off the ground or snow to temporarily immobilize the ski or snowboard. In certain embodiments, the slip prevention apparatus creates a point of traction, while providing a stable platform to stand while strapping into bindings. Certain embodiments include a stop element that provides a point of traction. Certain embodiments of the invention include a retractable tether. Certain embodiments of the invention provide various types of stop elements. Certain embodiments of the invention include a cord having a magnet on an end, and a corresponding magnet attached to a stop element. In certain embodiments, when the user has finished strapping in, the retractable tether returns a stop element to a secure position.

Portable ski and snowboard edge sharpener and method of using the same

A ski or snowboard edge sharpener may include an abrasive grinding wheel, a belt-driven drive train or direct drive system that connects a motor and grinding wheel drive mechanism and decreases the grinding wheel's speed of rotation relative to the speed of the motor, a grinding wheel mount allowing selection and use grinding wheels of different grits and materials and grinding wheel controls allowing the control of the cut depth and the grinding wheel angles relative to the longitudinal and transverse planes of the ski edge surface to be sharpened. The sharpener may alternatively include a grinding wheel and motor that drives the grinding wheel drive mechanism. Such configurations may allow repeated sharpening of a ski edge at specific/chosen angles with a specific/chosen surface finish. A position lockdown device that is part of each of the control mechanisms and a vacuum system to capture grinding residue may be included.

Attachment for a Ski Waxing Iron

An attachment for a ski waxing iron, which prevents molten ski wax from flowing onto ski sidewalls, is comprised of two clamping bars and two blades. The clamping bars may be affixed to the iron base, parallel to each other. Thin blades are affixed to the front end of the clamping bars and extend rearward. From the front of the attachment to the rear, the distance between the blades becomes smaller. As the iron base with affixed attachment is drawn along the length of the ski base, the blades, held tight to the ski by spring tension, prevent molten ski wax from flowing downward onto the ski sidewalls. This results in a thicker wax layer remaining on the ski base and eliminates the need for removal of wax from the ski sidewalls.

The disclosure includes a ski and ski pole carrying device that in many embodiments comprises two ski ties and lanyard. A ski pole strap with the proximal end coupled to a ski sleeve forms the ski tie. The ski ties may leave enough space between the sheaths and the bases to allow a portion of the skis' tips and tails to be slideably received by the ski tie as to secure the skis together. The ski ties may be arranged and configured for the skis' bases to be facing the same direction or in opposite directions. CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TRAIL GROOMING DEVICE AND METHOD

A device attachable to a pair of cross-country skis for grooming a trail in fresh snow simply by skiing the first pass. The purpose of this invention is to create a grooved trail in fresh snow to guide all skiers that follow in the same track. Without this attachment installed on the lead skier's ski, the soft snow on each side of the packed ski track does not help to keep the subsequent skier's ski in the lead skier's track. For them, it is like trying to ski on top of a narrow rail. This creates a situation where the skier must be diligent to stay in the track. With this device installed on the lead skiers ski, the subsequent skiers are guided by the packed snow on the sides of the lead skier's ski track. When skiing in tracks made using this invention, a skier can ski faster and smoother than in untracked snow. Since the compacted track helps guide the skier in the track, it allows the skier to focus on, and enjoy, the surroundings scenery. Another unique characteristic of this invention is its 2-part construction that allows the trail-making portion of the invention to be added and/or removed at any time. This allows the skier to easily change from being the lead skier to being a following skier. The attachment device of the preferred embodiment includes adjustable front and rear segments which can be individually pre-positioned relative to the sled body to allow connection to substantially any desired size and style of ski binding.
