Artificial sports surface

Номер: AU2013308397B2
Принадлежит: Griffith Hack

A synthetic turf sports flooring product with a performance surface upon which sports can be played. The flooring product is formed from polymer fibres entangled to provide a sports surface layer which provides the performance surface, and substantially all of the polymer fibres of the sports surface layer are locked in position relative to the synthetic turf sports flooring product as a whole by the arrangement of fibres and contact between fibres in the mat. The fibres may be locked in position by entanglement, surface friction between fibres and/or inherent bonding of fibres in the synthetic turf sports flooring product. The product can provide a predictable playing surface which changes little with varying moisture and temperature changes during play, at least in part by avoiding the use of bonding chemicals in its structure. An underlay material of similar construction can be used in conjunction with the playing surface.

A substrate for use in a flooring system which has a subfloor and a decorative upper layer. The substrate is made in a continuous sheet which has a bottom surface, a top surface, side surfaces and end surfaces. The top surface and the oppositely facing bottom surface are essentially parallel to each other and are spaced apart by the thickness of the substrate. Voids are provided in the substrate, the voids are provided between particles of rubber or other similar material. When the substrate is positioned between the subfloor and the decorative top layer, the particles of rubber provide the strength required to prevent deformation of the substrate in the direction of the thickness and the voids contribute to the sound dampening characteristics required to provide decibel reduction across the thickness of the substrate.

Plastics foam gymnasium mat - has one or more rows of air holes bored through to improve resilience and protective web on top

Принадлежит: HOFER K FA, HOFER, K. (FIRMA)

The plastics foam core for a gymnasium mat is made as a single layer with holes bored through it from end to end, instead of making it from two or more layers secured together by adhesive. This eliminates the disadvantage tha air is trapped inside, reducing its resilience. The holes may be round or some other shape, and may be in more than one row. Afterwards, the bored holes (2) may be filled with waste plastics foam material (4). An elastic web (3) may be fastened to the surface to act as protective layer.

The liner has an under layer (5) formed from a layer of planar parts e.g. plates and/or trajectories of a shock-absorbing material. A covering layer (11) covers the under layer without joints and is composed of granules of elastic particles. The material of the under layer consists of granules of elastic polymer whose pieces are glued with each other. The granule of the under layer is a foamed elastic polymer e.g. neoprene granule and foamed polyurethane granule. Joints (7) between the planar parts are covered with a tape i.e. fabric strip (9), to fix the planar parts against each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for construction of an impact absorbing liner.

Panels of turf or humus supported by porous tray opt. of plastic - to facilitate repair and reinforcement of locally worn zones of playing fields such as football pitches

Номер: CH0000670572A5
Принадлежит: WALTER BISCHOFF

Patches of portable turf comprise natural grass rooted in a layer of humus on an underlying support which is permeable and sufficiently rigid and durable to allow the turf to be relocated as desired. Specifically, the support may be a porous concrete, based on an aggregate of expanded clay, or metallic or of a plastics material. The humus may include one or more layers of a flexible plastics material. The support may include side-walls, pref. of plastics film or sheet, to at least partly contain the humus laterally. USE - Esp. for construction of sports pitches for e.g., football, to provide a natural grass surface while allowing areas of localised wear to be readily renewed and refreshed. The panels may vary in size or shape, to fit together with or without zones within or between and under the panels filled with a more porous material such as sand for enhanced drainage.

The edging is rigid in that form and can be used to edge a straight boundary between an artificial grass area and another landscape feature. Removal of cut-outs () from the connection region between two segments disapplies the flexibility restraint they impose. The segments concerned can then be displaced one relative to the other by articulation at the hinge () to accommodate non-linearity such as commonly found in such boundaries. One or more than one connection region can be treated in this way depending on need. 1. An artificial grass edging for use with an artificial lawn having an artificial grass layer , the edging comprising a segmented elongate member in which each segment is connected to its adjacent segment(s) , wherein each segment has a first face and a second face , the first face for receiving a perimeter edge portion of the artificial grass layer for fixture thereto and the second face for positioning on a ground-support surface , the segments being connected together by connection means provided at a connection region of said elongate member , the connection means comprising either:a. first connection means comprising an articulation for enabling relative displacement between the segments to thereby deform the elongate member at the connection region, orb. first and second connection means in which the first connection means comprises an articulation for enabling relative displacement between the segments to thereby deform the elongate member at the connection region, and the second connection means comprises a severable further connection for flexibility restraint across the connection region to thereby restrain or prevent deformation of the elongate member at the connection region.2.
