The plate forms a thin film on the rotor plate, the dia. and speed of which produce free linear streams of the melt; and the stream forms spheroids or fibres of specific size. The tundish outlet pref. has a radius of Ro mm, and is located above the axis of the rotor plate by a distance (Ho) between Ro/2mm and (Ro/2) + 2mm. The pref. rotor plate is made of silica, graphite, SiC, Si3N4, Zr02, chamotte, A1203, or MgO; and may consist of several plates. The rotor is pref. located in a casing with ring inlets for gas. All the spinning conditions can be quantitatively controlled by theoretical calculations.

A method for the manufacture of a powder comprises the steps: a) providing a chamber comprising a rotatable crucible, b) adding material into said rotatable crucible, c) melting the material using a plasma arc discharge, d) rotating the crucible to atomize the molten material to form liquid droplets, with subsequent cooling of the droplets to obtain a powder, wherein the material added into said rotatable crucible is heated to a temperature above 40% of the melting temperature of the material before it enters the crucible. It is possible to reduce the current required for melting the stock. Heat losses are decreased, and the spherical powder obtained during atomization becomes more homogeneous in its composition and structure. The cost is reduced.

The present invention relates to an aqueous gas-converting catalyst composition comprising: an active component; a support; an inorganic binder; at least one accelerator selected from the group consisting of cobalt oxide, molybdenum oxide, nickel oxide, calcium oxide, barium oxide, strontium oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, manganese oxide and barium titania; and at least one stabilizer selected from the group consisting of magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, stabilized zirconia, and hydrotalcite. The catalyst according to the present invention can effectively capture and separate carbon dioxide due to the excellent physical properties thereof such as packing density and abrasion resistance, and high CO conversion. Also, according to the present invention, mass production is facilitated by applying a spraying technique, and overall costs are lowered because of high yield. Thus, the present invention can be applied as a low cost pre-combustion CO2 capturing technique to an integrated gasification combined cycle, fuel cells, coal liquefaction, compound production, and the like.

An original filament comprising a thermoplastic polymer is passed through an orifice under an air pressure (P1) and guided to a spray chamber under a pressure (P2; where P1>P2). The original filament having passed through the orifice is heated and melted under irradiation by an infrared beam, and is sprayed in microparticulate form from the orifice by the flow of air generated by the pressure differential between P1 to P2, whereby micro-beads comprising thermoplastic polymer micro-particles having an average particle size of 10 μm or less, and even less than 1 μm are manufactured.

The disclosure relates to ultrahigh efficiency spray drying systems and processes, utilizing induction of localized turbulence in a drying fluid flow stream to produce spray dried product, having particular utility for low temperature spray drying operations. In a specific implementation, a method of processing a spray dryable liquid composition to form a spray dried product includes the steps of: generating a spray of the spray dryable liquid composition; contacting the spray of spray dryable liquid composition in a spray drying contact zone with a stream of primary drying fluid; injecting pressurized secondary drying fluid into the stream of primary drying fluid in the spray drying contact zone at multiple loci thereof to provide localized turbulence at said multiple loci; and recovering the spray dried product from the spray drying contact zone. Systems of the present disclosure are effective in achieving high-rate production of dry powder spray dried products, with substantially reduced capital equipment costs, energy requirements, and operating expenditures.

Powder metallurgy, in particular production of tungsten monocarbide spherical powders, which is a major component of metalloceramic hard alloys used for manufacture of tools, drill bits, steel alloying, wear-resistant coating cladding at elements operating in intensive wear conditions. The method includes melting of the starting material, and melt atomization with forming of spherical powder. As starting material a tungsten monocarbide grit is used. Melting and atomization of the material is implemented by continuous filling of grit into a rotating crucible of a centrifugal atomization device under an inert atmosphere and melting it by a plasma arc. After that an annealing of the obtained powder is made at a temperature of 1200-1400° C. during a time necessary for W 2 C breakup with subsequent cooling of the powder in a furnace. And, the production of tungsten monocarbide spherical powder with WC content of more than 70%.
