The extractor has at least one overflow weir in a mixing zone between the inlet for the specifically lighter and the inlet for the specifically heavier liquid phase and a division of the mixing zone into mixing-and-separation compartments. Access channels empty into the vicinity of the inner surface of a drum jacket and into that of the heavier phase, to conduct the lighter phase out of the compartment inside the hub of a conveyor worm into the initial mixing-and-separation compartment. One or more overflow channels also empty into the vicinity of the heavier phase, in the overflow weir to divert the lighter phase separated in the initial mixing-and-separation compartment into another and subsequent mixing-and-separation compartment. A continuously operating counterflow centrifugal extractor suitable for liquid-liquid extractions wherein solids can be separated with the heavier phase. The extractor (FIG. 1) includes a horizontally disposed drum 8, 9 rotated by pulley 15 which is mounted on hollow shaft extension 6. A transport screw 10 is mounted on a shaft 11 and is rotated by forces developed in the liquid at a rate different than the rate of rotation of the drum. The two liquids are introduced into opposite ends of a mixing zone A. After mixing the heavier phase passes through clarification zone C to outlet 20 and the lighter phase passes through the clarification zone B and on to pump 21 which is mounted on shaft 11 and rotates with the transport screw 10. The difference in rotation rates can be controlled by operation of a throttle 27.

The disclosure discloses a method for quickly and accurately analyzing polyphenol content in rapeseed oil, and belongs to the field of analysis of natural compounds. The separation method of the disclosure uses acetonitrile-water as an extractant to extract polyphenols from the rapeseed oil, and cooperates with a Cadsorbent for purification, and then performs separation and purification. Compared with the traditional liquid-liquid extraction and solid-phase extraction, the method has an average recovery rate of polyphenols in the rapeseed oil of 81.31% to 102.95%, and RSDs of 0.86% to 8.03%, and has higher accuracy and precision. The method of the disclosure not only uses less organic reagents and causes less environmental pollution, but also reduces matrix interference and improves purification efficiency through optimization of the adsorbent. The method of the disclosure not only is simple to operate and low in cost, but also has less matrix interference and accurate results, and is suitable for the qualitative and quantitative determination of polyphenols in the rapeseed oil. 1. A method for extracting polyphenols from rapeseed oil , comprising:(1) extracting the rapeseed oil by using a mixed solution of acetonitrile and water as an extractant, performing solid-liquid separation, and collecting a supernatant to obtain an extracting solution; and{'sub': '18', '(2) adding 20 to 35 mg/mL Cadsorbent to the extracting solution obtained in step (1), performing solid-liquid separation, and collecting a supernatant to obtain a polyphenol solution.'}2. Disclosed is a method for extracting one or more chemical extracts from a plant product. The chemical extracts are purified and extracted by first separating at least a phytochemical bearing part of a plant product from one or more other portions of the plant product. A carrier oil is then heated at a target temperature to be used as the vehicle for extraction and then mixed with the at least a phytochemical bearing part while the target temperature is maintained. The process may be streamlined by having heating and mixing occur in a press device. An oil extraction process is then applied to the sample and one or more parameters of said oil extraction process is then measured. A device to test oil extraction processes on samples is disclosed. The device has a temperature configurable sample holder having sufficient temperature control to provide a desired heat profile to said sample.

The invention describes a centrifugal extractor for mixing and separating two liquids, one of which is charged with a substance to be extracted and with solids. The apparatus comprises a bowl which can rotate around a horizontal axis and which performs mixing and contact between two clarification zones. This bowl has a casing tapering towards the ends of the horizontal axis as well as a conical-shaped transport screw which rotates at a speed different from that of the casing and has a number of places between its turns. where the contact with liquids takes place (liquid to be subjected to extraction and extraction agent). The apparatus allows continuous separation of solids into particles of high density.

A hydrocarbon mixture consisting of an aromatic and a non-aromatic component is subjected to a liquid-liquid extraction and/or an extractive distillation. A solvent is used which selectively dissolves the aromatic component so as to form an extract phase. The extract phase is introduced into a distillation column for separating the solvent and the aromatic component. The column is provided with trays and the extract phase is introduced into the column at about the middle thereof from where the solvent flows downwardly and the aromatic component flows upwardly. Sufficient water is introduced into the sump of the column to insure that the trays above the location at which the extract phase enters the column are filled with water during the separation. This improves the operation of the distillation column. An arrangement for carrying out the above process is also disclosed.
