The holes are placed and sized to form jets which interact with each other to create high levels of turbulence which produce energetic mixing, droplet formation, fluidisation or reactions. Unlike atomisers which require a dip leg tube, the design is non fouling because no liquid passes through the small holes and can therefore be used to atomise liquids containing solids such as crystals or powders as well as clean liquids. In combustion applications the invention produces intense secondary mixing eliminating the need for pre-mixing of combustion gases.

An electrostatic coating device having an intermediate containing tank (107) for temporarily containing electrically conductive paint, the intermediate containing tank (107) being provided in a paint supply path (148) for supplying the paint to a painting gun (108) from a color selection valve mechanism (105); a block valve mechanism (106) for electrically interrupting connection between the color selection valve mechanism (105) and the intermediate containing tank (107); and a paint extrusion section (12) for supplying water or cleaning liquid, the paint extrusion section (12) being connected via a selection valve (23) to a discharge path (137) between the intermediate containing tank (105) and the painting gun (108). When the amount of paint required until the completion of painting reaches a predetermined level, the position of the selection valve (23) is changed to extrude the electrically conductive paint by the water or the cleaning liquid.

Spraying viscous liquids.

A sprayer for molasses or similar viscous liquid is provided with means whereby a heated gaseous medium such as steam under pressure is directed past an outlet member or cup (2) for mixing with molasses discharging from the cup in order to effectively break up the discharging molasses into a finely divided spray. A further gaseous medium such as air under pressure is preferably also directed past the cup (2) for also breaking up the discharging molasses, the air and steam being directed from respective annular openings or clearances (30,40) about the cup (2). The air outlet opening (30) is located immediately about the cup (2) so as to enable coolant air flow to take place between the cup (2) and adjacent steam flow to the annular opening (40). Apparatus for attachment to a hand operated spray gun, comprising a cylindrical rotatable member having a spray orifice therein, which is rotatable between a spraying position and an orifice cleaning position, the rotatable cylindrical member having a metallic sealing member surface of matching shape and adjacent thereto, and a further resilient sealing member for permitting leakproof attachment to a spray device. The rotatable spray member is actuably coupled to a safety tip guard so as to become disassembled if the safety tip guard is removed.

Paint metering cylinder with a removably attachable head closure

A paint-metering cylinder 2 for supplying a paint discharge nozzle with a paint material for painting plants. The cylinder 2 includes a removably attachable head closure 6 and at least one quick-lock closure device structured and arranged to attach the head closure. Cylinder head closure 6 may comprise two disk-type main assemblies 27, 28, where upper ring 27 has a handle 24 and several pins (29, Fig 6) which project into corresponding engagement recesses (30,Fig 5) of cylinder wall 4. Since cylinder head closure 6 is attached to cylinder wall 4 with a type of bayonet closure, the opening and closing can be carried out quickly and simply. The paint-metering cylinder 2 may include at least one rinsing device having at least two rinsing agent outlet openings 17, 19. The rinsing device may also have a rinsing agent inlet opening 18 which along with rinsing agent outlet opening 19 are arranged in the cylinder wall in a substantially tangential direction.
