Apparatus for the treatment of links of metallic chains. Means are provided for the application, by shaking of the soldering powder to one or more chains being treated. Means are also provided for the automatic removal, by shaking, of any excess of the powder thus applied so that there remains, retained in the interstices of the individual links, only the quantity necessary for subsequent soldering. An isolating powder, such as talcum or the like, is applied so as to isolate the links one from another. The application and removal means also have the function of movable guide means for the chains being treated, which undergo a mixed transverse and longitudinal movement, on a substantially horizontal plane, resulting in continuous advancement along the length of the apparatus.

A method for forming a garland chain is disclosed, wherein an original chain formed of either long links or of long and short links is worked to produce a garland chain. The garland chain is formed by sliding one link on another so that two attached links are positioned at one end of a long link, and deforming the long link to constrict the central or medial portion, thereby retaining the two attached links at the same end of the long link. Deformation may be applied in the form of crimping, bending or twisting of the links, or combinations of these methods. The deforming methods can be applied to every long link in a chain, or to selected sequences of long links, to create different garland chain effect.

An investment cast, stainless steel chain link is provided for chains used in water and wastewater treatment. The chain link comprises a pair of spaced apart, elongated sidebars having forward ends and rearward ends. The forward ends are spread apart and are provided with outwardly and laterally extending bosses having transverse boss pin bores coaxially aligned with each other. The rearward ends are interconnected by a cylindrical barrel having a barrel pin bore extending through each of the sidebars. The sidebars are formed with outwardly and laterally projecting reinforcing ribs extending between the bosses and the barrel pin bore along a substantial length of the sidebars. A freely rotatable chain pin is inserted through aligned boss and barrel pin bores from either end thereof for interconnecting first and second pairs of sidebars. An arrangement is provided for preventing the lateral dislodgement of the chain pin from the sidebars.

A graduated polymeric ring forming mandrel and a method of forming a ring from beading wire are provided. The mandrel has a plurality of longitudinal grooves and a plurality of segments with diameters corresponding to ring sizes. The segments correspond to at least ring sizes 4 through 16 (North American sizing). The mandrel length is about 6 to 15 inches. The grooves are at least about 0.010 inches deep. The mandrel material is selected from an engineering resin or a compatible resin mixture. The ring forming method includes wrapping wire with beads/findings around a mandrel segment producing a helical preform, adding findings to each succeeding wrap, and stabilizing the appearance by joining the ends by knotting or use of a finding, moving the preform to another mandrel section with grooving or a smaller diameter, and either applying a finding or toroidally wrapping additional wire around the wire.

A method for creating a jewelry ring made of multiple stacked rings that are counter-rotatable with respect to each other. Using precise CNC machining, two ring blanks are formed to have complimentary shaped bearing ends that interlock with each other to prevent axial dislocation, but also provide complimentary bearings so that the rings are counter-rotatable to each other. These ring blanks are sized relative to each other so that after being formed, they can be aligned at their complimentary ends and the smaller ring enlarged to snap into the larger ring. A loop charm is disclosed along with a method of removably securing the loop charm to another object. 1. A loop charm comprising:a) a first member having a circumference, a first surface and an oppositely aligned second surface, each of said first and second surfaces has a surface area, and said surface area of said first surface being greater than said surface area of said second surface;b) an attachment member secured to said first member; andc) a closed loop of elastic material secured to said attachment member, said closed loop of elastic material having an initial inner periphery which can be expanded to at least about 5 times the size of said initial inner periphery and fit over said circumference of said first member, and said closed loop of elastic material capable of immediately contracting, after having been expanded, back toward said initial inner periphery, whereby said loop charm can be removably secured to another object.2. The loop charm of wherein said first surface is convex and has a surface area of at least about 0.05 square inches.3. The loop charm of wherein said second surface is planar and said attachment member is an epoxy.4. The loop charm of further comprising a sticker secured to said first surface claim 1 , and said sticker contains an image which is visually exposed.5. The loop charm of wherein one end of said closed loop of elastic material is removably secured to said attachment member and a second end of said closed loop of elastic material is removably secured to said object.6. An improved jewelry chain comprising a plurality of links, each link comprising a head, a neck and a tail, each of the head and the tail having a socket through which successive links are attached. A support fixture is provided for holding chain to facilitate addition of pendants thereto. The fixture comprises a polymeric base and a pair of inter-nesting uprights pivotably mounted therein at opposed ends of the base.
