An improved telepole device having attachment means for attaching swimming pool cleaning, and other tools. The improved telepole device preferably includes an inner tube which freely slides within an outer tube, and a locking device to temporarily secure the inner tube in a desired position within the outer tube. A preferred lightweight design may be at least partially hollow along the length of the tube(s), and durability may be provided by inner/reinforcement wall(s) that extend across the hollow portion(s) of one or both of the tubes. On the end of the outer tube through which the inner tube slides/extends is a collar element attached thereto and comprised of a locking device having a detent mechanism for “locking” the inner tube in place within the outer tube. Preferably, the collar's opening and the profile of the inner tube have one or more sides that, due to their relative position with respect to each other, can prevent the inner tube from rotating within the collar. Further, the inner tube preferably has a series of holes along its length which are positioned to receive a pin element of the detent mechanism. Further, the end of the outer tube opposite the collar preferably has attachment holes configured to receive attachable and detachable swimming pool cleaning tools, and an additional set of holes that allow water to drain from the outer tube while a tool is attached.

A rotary extension rod includes an outer tube, an inner tube received in the outer tube, a rotatable assembly having a knob, a fixing seat and a link, and a positioning ring deposited on the fixing seat. The knob is rotatably deposited at one end of the outer tube. The fixing seat is received in the outer tube and fixed to one end of the inner tube. The link is between the knob and the fixing seat, and has two opposite first radially raised portions. The positioning ring has two opposite second radially raised portions. By rotating the knob, the first radially raised portions are posed to abut against or depart from the second radially raised portions, so that the positioning ring radially deforms to press against or release the outer tube, in turn allowing the length of the extension rod to be adjusted. 1. A telescoping handle device may include an outer housing which may be slidably coupled to a shaft. The outer housing may have an elongated side wall, and the side wall may terminate in a first end and a second end. A cavity may be formed within the side wall, and the cavity may include a key channel and a lock groove. The shaft may be movable within the cavity, and the shaft may have an upper end and a lower end. A shaft key may be coupled to the shaft, and the shaft key may be slidably engaged within the key channel so that the shaft key is slidable between the first end and the second end. The shaft key may be rotatable out of the key channel and into the lock groove to prevent the shaft key from being slidable between the first end and the second end. 1. A telescoping handle device , the device comprising:an outer housing having an elongated side wall, the side wall terminating in a first end and a second end;a cavity formed within the side wall, the cavity comprising a key channel and a lock groove;a shaft movable within the cavity, the shaft having an upper end and a lower end; anda shaft key coupled to the shaft, the shaft key slidably engaged within the key channel so that the shaft key is slidable between the first end and the second end, wherein the shaft key is rotatable out of the key channel and into the lock groove to prevent the shaft key from being slidable between the first end and the second end.2.
