Цель изобретения - повышение качества пресс-формы и снижение трудоемкости ее изготовления. Накладные элементы в процессе ЭЭО используют в качестве катодов, их заглубляют в корпус на глубину 1/10-1/40 от наибольшей высоты элемента. Образуется гнездо и по периметру щель - воздухоотводящий канал. Элементы крепят в гнездах механическим путем. Шероховатость торцовых поверхностей для лучшего газоотвода обеспечивают более грубую. Для этого в конце обработки увеличивают режим на 25-50% от первоначального, который выбирают из условия обеспечения шероховатости боковых поверхностей не более 2,5 мкм. In a closed cooling circuit, water is fed from a common gas/water reservoir (6) via a user (5) and pump means (7) to an air/water heat exchanger (1). The gas in the gas/water reservoir (6) is able to pass into a storage means (9) via a compressor (8). When the cooling circuit is switched off, the water present in the heat exchanger is removed from the heat exchanger by a shut-off valve means (10) being opened, thereby allowing the gas to expand and enter the heat exchanger via inflow opening (4). The cooling water from the heat exchanger (1) is then stored in gas/water reservoir (6). When the circuit is switched back on - pump means (7) being operated, gas present in the heat exchanger (1) is forced by the cooling water back into the gas/water reservoir (6) though discharge line (B).

An apparatus for valcanising and repairing tyres, particularly heavy tyres, in which the tyre to be repaired is mounted on a wheel rim and inflated. The apparatus has two shafts of rectangular tube mounted on a base and slightly inclined to the vertical. Above the base two wheels perpendicular to the shafts hold the tyre and allow it to rotate. An automatically variable tension device allows the application of heating elements, pressure and counter-pressure to the tyre, and applies to the wheel rim. The profile of the tyre is formed by top and flank air bags. The heating elements for vulcanising the repaired portions are electrical resistors in rubber bags to apply to the exterior and multiple sectional heaters on the wheel rim. Large tyres may be repaired in situ in an apparatus which adjusts to tyre size.

The unit which is opt. removable consists of two refrigeration circuits and one heating circuit, the two refrigeration circuits having in common a condenser which serves to reliquify the refrigerant evaporated in mould cooling and to diminish the relative humidity of the air escaping from the atmospheric cooling circuit of the plasticiser, its screw and the power circuit. The condenser may be placed between the nozzles and the fan of the atmospheric cooling system, downstream from the fan. The refrigeration circuit of the plasticiser and screw consists of a pump which conveys refrigerated water from the tank to the apparatus, then through a first multi-tubular refrigerator and finally the system of air cooling before returning to the tank. The circuits may be combined with a reheating circuit. Accurate control of heating and cooling in machines for moulding and treatment of thermoplastic and thermosetting moulding materials is provided.

Portable vulcanizers. -A portable vulcanizer for repairing tyres and the like consists of a hollow casing A having one or more faces shaped to fit the tyre, and adapted to be heated internally by a lamp B. The lamp B comprises a cylinder filled with an absorbent material D such as amanthus, and a gauze - covered space E which serves as a burner. Air enters by a restricted opening G, direct draught being excluded by a shield N, and the burnt products escape through holes in the top of the apparatus. The lamp, burning alcohol or the like, projects its flame on to the curved sole F. When the sole is heated to the desired temperature, namely, about 135‹ C., the quantity of alcohol vapour generated is greater than can be burnt owing to the restricted air supply, the result being that the flame draws away from the sole towards the air inlet. The thickness of the sole varies, to obtain a uniform temperature.

A mold for molding articles of plastic or other like materials, having a plurality of vertically extending internal passages, is connected by inlet and return conduits into a closed loop that includes a heat exchanger partially filled with a liquid supply of a cooling fluid or a heating fluid. For cooling the heat exchanger is positioned with its liquid level above the top of the mold, the inlet conduit connects the lower part of the heat exchanger, below the liquid level, to the lower ends of the mold passages, and the return conduit connects the upper ends of the mold passages to the upper part of the heat exchanger; for heating these relationships are reversed. In operation the fluid changes its physical state at critical points in the mold passages, going from liquid to vapor for cooling and from vapor to liquid for heating; circulation in the closed loop is in response to the effect of gravity. Operation of the heat exchanger is controlled to maintain a controlled pressure in the closed loop.

The fluid exchange system also includes an inlet that receives the fluid as it returns from the mold. In one embodiment, the heating system reheats the fluid returning from the mold and reuses it to heat the mold again. In a more particular embodiment, the heating system includes a steam generator that generates steam used to heat the mold. In another embodiment, the portable mold-temperature control system includes a local cooling system that cools the fluid used to cool the mold. In a more particular embodiment, the local cooling system cools fluid returning from the mold and reuses it to cool the mold. A method for using the portable mold-temperature control unit is also disclosed.

A method of cooling a mould tool that is comprised of or includes at least in part (3, 4) a porous material having communicating pores, such as a microporous metal or metal alloy, with the aid of condensed gas, preferably CO2. Gas is delivered to the porous material in an essentially liquid state and is caused to vaporise as a result of pressure drops in cavities (9, 10) and pores in the material, to effectively cool the tool. The gas vaporised in the porous material (3, 4) is channelled to one or more conductors (15) sealingly connected to said material. These conductors conduct the gas to a condenser (14), in which the gas is again condensed. The therewith condensed gas is again delivered to the porous material (3, 4), said material being utilized as a communications link in the resultant tool-cooling circuit. The invention also relates to apparatus for use when carrying out the method.

These trees 4 are pivoted about the rods 6, and each has a flattened extremity 5, in order that the fractured part of the article which is drawn upon the tree may be arranged beneath it. In Fig. 1, swinging-bars 10 are shown which cooperate with nuts 11 to maintain all the trees of the left-hand section in contact with the heater. For controlling temperature in the molding of plastics, metal, ceramic, or die-casting, a circulator supporting a molding machine includes a fixed displacement pump driven by an electronic servo motor for volumetric metering of thermal fluid to or from the molding machine. A pre-set or dynamically controlled volume and flow rate profile matches the heating and cooling requirement of a molding machine and process. Volumetric metering may be based on parameters such as time, machine cycle status, temperature, pressure, and/or flow rate. Fluid may be circulated through the mold at positive or negative pressure at fixed, variable, or pulsed flow. The supply side in a fluid loop may be restricted so as to cause a pressure drop in or upstream of the mold, die or barrel, and seed bubbles may be injected into the fluid flow to excite vaporization and lowering of the fluid temperature.
