The headstocks are moved by links 8 adjustably connected thereto and pivoted to a lever 6 one on each side of the fulcrum 7, the lower end of the lever being moved by a cam 9 mounted on a shaft 10 rotated, through worm gearing 18, 19, by a belt-driven shaft with fast and loose pulleys 18A, Fig. 3. A belt-shifter 20 is held against the action of a spring to retain the belt on the fast pulley by a catch 21, which is released at every revolution of the shaft 10 by a projection 22 on the shaft, whereby the shifter is allowed to move the belt on to the loose pulley; the machine is re-started by depression of a pedal 23 connected with the shifter. The blade 26 is mounted on a work-holder 24 by a member 24<A> secured to the tang and slidable in a forked part 24<B> of the holder, and the holder is reciprocated along a guide 25, to carry the blade between the wheels and back, by a lever 27 pivoted at 29 and rocked by a crank-pin 30 adjustably mounted on the cam-shaft 10. The work-holder is reciprocated vertically by a 'bell-crank lever 38, which is oscillated through a link by an adjustable crankpin 89 on the belt-driven shaft, and engages a member 36 slidable in guides 37 and carrying the work-holder guide 25. The vertical reciprocation may be more rapid than the horizontal reciprocation or may have the same period. Brushing and cleaning chains. - Chains to be cleaned are wound on a rotating drum which is guided past a rotating disk -brush and can be rotated about an axis at right-angles to the axis of the brush. The framework p carrying the drum a moves in a guide q which is pivotally mounted on and secured to the carriage n by a bolt r. The axis of the bolt r is at right-angles to the shaft v on which the brush o is mounted, so that by moving the drum about the bolt r it is possible to clean the lateral parts of the chain. An axially indisplaceable threaded spindle t is mounted in the frame p and is engaged by a nut h fixed to the guide q. The spindle t is connected by gearing to the spindle b of the drum a, which is driven through worm gearing s by a flexible shaft u operated by the shaft v. The movement of the frame p is reversed automatically at the end of its travel by changing the gearing between the spindles b, t from a single gear 7 to a double gear 8, 9, and vice versa. The gears 7 and 8, 9 are mounted on a square pin k provided with a notch 15 which is engaged by a pivoted lever z rocked in the known manner by tappets g on the guide q. In order to retain the lever z in both operative positions, it is formed with a projection 20, Fig. 5, which in both operative positions drops into slots 21 in a resilient plate 22, from which it is released by the tappets g bearing against the inclined end faces of the plate 22 just before they reach the lever z. The machine is preferably made with two drums a and brushes o, and is symmetrically arranged on each side of the line x-x, Fig. 2. The carriage n is adjusted by a threaded spindle 3.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for manufacturing thermally insulated closed-form structures and can be used in various industries, including in the production of window frames, door frames, in devices during operation of which a temperature difference occurs, for example in cold rooms and air conditioners, seals, in building structures in the production of floorings, fences or profiles for rebuilt premises. The method consists in shaping the profile chamber elements, placing the heat insulator in the corresponding chambers of the profile elements, and the final assembly of the closed structure. Moreover, fibrous, or granular, or foamy thermal insulation material is used as a heat insulator, while when using fibrous thermal insulation material, the latter is placed in the corresponding chambers of profile elements prior to the assembly process, and when using granular or foamy thermal insulation material, technological holes designed to fill the chambers of profile elements with the appropriate heat insulator are pre-installed in the profile elements. Further, the granular or foamy thermal insulation material is sequentially placed in the chambers of the profile elements after the assembly process of the closed structure, and after filling the chambers of the profile elements of the structure with granular or foamy thermal insulation material, the technological holes in the profile elements are sealed. [Class 60] [Also in Group XXII] A grinding or other machine tool comprises a machine bed, a table movable longitudinally on the bed and carrying a transverselyslidable work slide and a push rod having a positivelylimited movement longitudinally of the table, a cam on the push rod to move the work slide, steps on the bed to engage the push rod near the ends of its movement with the table, the positive engagement of the push rod with the table at the ends of its limited movement determining the stroke of the table, together with hydraulic means for movement of the table. As applied to a knife-grinding machine a work slide 17 is carried on a table 12 which is moved towards or away from a cup wheel 16 by means of a piston 47 working in a cylinder 46. The table 12 has two V-grooves 35 inclined at 45 degrees to the axis thereof, corresponding grooves 36 being formed in the slide 17; blocks 37 secured to the table by screws 38 form guides for the slide which is held vertically by washers 39 on pins 41 projecting from the table through slots 42 in the slide. A longitudinal slot 52 on the table carries a push-rod 54 having a lateral arm 55 and a cam surface 58 on which bears a follower roller 60 secured to the slide 17. The slide 17 carries a bracket to which is pivoted at 20 a work holder 21 provided with a long block 22 and pad 23 against which the knife blade is held. An arm 30 of the work support 21 carries a roller 31 which runs on a bar 32, adjustment of the bar serving to impart a slight rotary movement to the work holder if required. In operation the table is moved towards the wheel 16, the blade 25 lying clear of the wheel as shown in Fig. 1.
