A composite container is provided for holding products (e.g., stacked chips). The container includes a tubular body and a peelable membrane. The tubular body is made of at least one paperboard body ply having an inner surface and a metallized Oriented Polypropylene (mOPP) liner ply adhered to the inner surface of the paperboard body ply. A liner sealant is disposed on the inner surface of the mOPP liner ply, and the paperboard body ply and the mOPP liner ply are rolled outwardly to form a rim. The membrane, which has a membrane sealant on its inner surface, is sealed to the liner sealant in the area of the rim to close the container. When the membrane is peeled away, the membrane sealant and the liner sealant remain sealed to each other and cause separation within the mOPP liner ply, avoiding tearing and exposure of the paperboard in the rim.

A composite container is provided for holding products (e.g., stacked chips). The container includes a tubular body and a peelable membrane. The tubular body is made of at least one paperboard body ply having an inner surface and a metallized Oriented Polypropylene (mOPP) liner ply adhered to the inner surface of the paperboard body ply. A liner sealant is disposed on the inner surface of the mOPP liner ply, and the paperboard body ply and the mOPP liner ply are rolled outwardly to form a rim. The membrane, which has a membrane sealant on its inner surface, is sealed to the liner sealant in the area of the rim to close the container. When the membrane is peeled away, the membrane sealant and the liner sealant remain sealed to each other and cause separation within the mOPP liner ply, avoiding tearing and exposure of the paperboard in the rim.

A window-finishing machine that comprises at least two platens and, optionally, a machine pocket positioned between them, a heating element extending through at least one of the platens, and a pressurized air device engages a container. End closures can then be applied to the ends of the container body. The laminate is heat-sealable to itself, is able to withstand heating/cooking conditions in both conventional and microwave ovens, and has a low oxygen permeability. The edge of the blank exposed to contents of the container can be wrapped by a sideseam tape in order to protect the edge.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines doppelwandigen Bechers aus Papier oder papierähnlichem Material mit folgenden Schritten: Aufsetzen eines Innenbechers mit einer Hülse und einem Boden auf einem Dorn, Auflegen eines flächigen Segments auf eine Außenseite des Innenbechers gegenüberliegend dem Dorn, Formen des flächigen Segments zu einem Außenmantel, der den Innenbecher umgibt und Fixieren des Außenmantels auf dem Innenbecher mittels stoffschlüssigem Verbinden von Außenmantel und Innenbecher, insbesondere mittels Verkleben, wobei wenigstens ein Abstandshalter auf einer Innenseite des flächigen Segments und/oder auf einer Außenseite der Hülse des Innenbechers vor dem Auflegen des flächigen Segments auf den Innenbecher angebracht wird. The invention relates to a method for producing a double-walled cup of paper or paper-like material comprising the following steps: placing an inner cup with a sleeve and a bottom on a mandrel, placing a planar segment on an outer side of the inner cup opposite the mandrel, forming the planar segment an outer sheath surrounding the inner cup and fixing the outer sheath on the inner cup by means of cohesive bonding of outer sheath and inner cup, in particular by gluing, wherein at least one spacer on an inner side of the flat segment and / or on an outer side of the sleeve of the inner cup prior to placing the flat segment is attached to the inner cup.

A heat insulating container has an inner container body and a sleeve. The sleeve is attached to the circumferential wall of the inner container body by attaching surfaces, and has cut edges extending transversely to the circumferential direction. The attaching surfaces are only arranged extending transversely to the circumferential direction. A simplified application of the sleeve to the circumferential wall of the inner container is thereby made possible and less material and working time are required for production.

An insulating container comprising a container body having at least one side wall and a bottom wall with the side wall including a base layer, an insulating layer on at least a portion of the base layer and a printed pattern, mineral oil application or combination thereof on at least a portion of the surface of the insulating layer is disclosed wherein a thickness of the insulating layer is controlled by the printed pattern and/or mineral oil on the selected portion of the insulating layer. Similarly, stock material incorporating the present invention includes a base layer, an insulating layer formed on at least a portion of the base layer and a printed pattern printed on and or mineral oil applied to the insulating layer is disclosed wherein the thickness of the insulating layer is again controlled by the printed pattern and/or mineral oil on the portion of the insulating layer. The container may be formed of pre-manufactured stock material, by unexpanded stock material or by forming a container body from a paper or paperboard material including a bottom wall and at least one side wall, coating at least the side wall portion of the container body with a thermoplastic synthetic resin film and subsequently printing a pattern on the surface of the thermoplastic synthetic resin film. Once formed, the container is heated at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time period sufficient to form a heat-insulating layer on the outer surface of the container by expanding the thermoplastic synthetic resin film. The expansion of the thermoplastic synthetic resin is controlled by a thickness of the printed pattern placed thereon, the mineral oil coating or a combination thereof.

A two-piece foam plastic cup is made from a rectangular blank and either a bottom disc or expandible plastic foam beads. The rectangular blank is pleated in triangular transverse pleats having their apices adjacent to the top rim or mouth of the finished cup to form a frusto-conical sidewall blank with a lapped side seam portion. This sidewall blank is placed in a heated mold with either foam plastic beads or a bottom disc and the mold is heated to fuse the pleats, fuse the lapped side seam, and expand the bottom material and sidewall material into a fused unitary cup or container structure having a sidewall of uniform thickness but with visible pleats therein, despite its resulting smooth surface.

A paper cup or similar disposable thin-walled fluid container with a removable or pop-out portion in its sidewall containing redemption information is disclosed wherein the pop-out portion is formed by a series of surrounding perforations in the sidewall, which perforations are sealed against fluid leakage by being filled with the protective material, such as wax, that is used to coat the sidewall to protect it against the fluid in the container. The perforations may outline an integral portion of the sidewall or when the redemption indicia is to be obscured, separate portions at the opposite edges of the sidewall blank may be outlined, which portions will cooperate to form the pop-out portion as part of the sidewall seam when the edges are overlapped and joined. In the latter instance, the perforations extend into the sidewall beyond the limits of the seam so that an opening will occur in the sidewall when the pop-out portion or a part thereof is removed to view the prize indicating indicia.
