A twin conveyor system carries the printed sheet and the cardboard and around which the printed sheet is wrapped and glued. Printed sheets are feed through forming rolls where one pair of edges are trimmed and partly bent along a conveyor then deposited on a further conveyor strip at right angles to a conveyor where the pair of edges are shaped. The shaped printed sheet is then conveyed and married with the cardboard insert from a conveyor, and removed to the glueing and finishing line.

The carcass may be constructed of wire bent to form a zigzag and the sharp edged means may be constituted by barbs 25 struck out of the wire zig-zag and projecting through the fabric. Alternatively the sharp edged means may be constituted by gritty particles held by a layer of adhesive on the surface of the fabric within the channel, Fig. 5 (not shown).

The ratchet teeth are engaged by a spring-pressed pawl 81 carried by a forked frame 82 which is pivoted and adapted to be rocked by suitable mechanism. The pawl 81 is slidably mounted on a rod 84, and is held in any position by its tail engaging one of a series of notches 85 formed in the cross-member of the frame 82. A continuous tension is exerted on the strip during its passage through the machine by flanged rollers 86, 87, Fig. 1.

The corner has at least two non-corrugated paperboard plies combined together to create two perpendicular wings and an apex. The handle has an inactivated position, in which it extends substantially in a cross machine direction of the web, and an activated or in-use position, substantially perpendicular to the inactivated position. A conversion assembly for a dunnage conversion machine includes both a downstream pair of rotatable members and an upstream pair of rotatable members upstream of the downstream rotatable members. The downstream rotatable members include a pair of gears, and each gear has a plurality of teeth and is rotatable about a respective axis. The gears are positioned so that the teeth of one gear are sequentially interlaced with the teeth of the other gear as the gears rotate. The upstream rotatable members include a pair of feed wheels, and the gears and the feed wheels define a path for a sheet stock material from between the upstream pair of feed wheels to between the downstream pair of gears. In accordance with a broad embodiment of the invention, a novel paper product is comprised of two or more slit sheet packing material layers, each layer having its own slit pattern design to create interlocking layers of expansion sheet packaging materials. Each layer expands to create a three dimensional open netting of cells of hexagons, and the like, and is designed to have limited nesting with its opposing layer, thereby maximizing the thickness of the combined layers as compared to nested layers. A dunnage conversion machine includes a bunching assembly that randomly crumples at least two plies of sheet stock material into modified plies having a relatively thicker three-dimensional shape, and a feeding assembly that advances and connects together longitudinally-extending portions of the modified plies to form a dunnage strip. A diverter minimizes overlap of and encourages separation of lateral edges of the modified plies from one another, and a severing assembly severs distinct dunnage products from the strip. An exemplary resultant dunnage product includes two or more plies of crumpled sheet material interconnected along a longitudinally-extending portion having interconnected overlapped portions of each of the plies and a longitudinally-extending line of connection.
