In greenhouses and other stuctures an excessive amount of sunlight on a hot day may cause overheating or may cause uneven lighting. A sheet is provided which is normally transparent but which becomes white and light-reflective at a predetermined temperature to help keep the structure cooled or help keep its lighting at a constant level. This color is reversible so that the sheet becomes transparent when the temperature falls. In one embodiment, the sheet consists of a unitary transparent plastic resin structure formed with elongated cells which are filled with a thick and viscous gel containing poly (vinyl methyl ether) or other suitable "cloud point" material. The gel helps prevent loss of water through the cell walls and prevents gaps which may occur from migration over repeated cycles of precipitation of the cloud point material, i.e., it helps keep the mixture homogeneous. In another embodiment the sheet comprises a plastic resin film which is coated with a liquid mixture including bentonite and a water solution of poly (vinyl methyl ether) and the mixture is dried and later re-wetted at the assembly site.

A protective foam layer is provided. The protective layer has a foam substrate that is at least partially enclosed by a formed skin adjacent the outer surface of the foam substrate. The formed skin is substantially non-porous. The combination of the foam substrate with the formed skin results in a protective layer that is effective to absorb and/or dissipate impact force for both high- and low-speed impacts that can be experienced during a sporting event such as cycling. The formed skin can also be provided with a plurality of protective zones having vent holes through the formed skin to regulate the degree of energy absorption in the respective zones. In this manner, a single continuous protective foam layer can be provided having multiple protective zones having distinct energy absorption characteristics instead of providing discrete protective layers that must be joined or meet at a seam. According to the invention, by providing such a continuous protective layer with no such seams, a known failure mode in protective equipment is eliminated.

본 발명은 에어셀이 구비된 화장용 퍼프에 관한 것으로, 원형 또는 사각의 판형으로 형성되고, 화장품을 하부면에 묻히거나 흡수시켜 사용자 안면이나 피부에 직접 접촉하며, 토닥거림이나 두드림으로써 화장품을 안면이나 피부에 고르게 도포시키도록 형성된 접촉흡수퍼프(100)와; 상기 접촉흡수퍼프(100)와 대응되게 형성되고, 상기 접촉흡수퍼프(100)가 사용자 안면이나 피부에 접촉시 가해지는 충격을 완충하고, 충격완충을 통해 화장품의 비산을 방지하여 고르게 안면이나 피부에 도포되도록 상기 접촉흡수퍼프(100) 상부면에 접착제에 의해 열융착결합되는 제1완충퍼프(200)와; 상기 제1완충퍼프와 대응되게 형성되고, 상기 제1완충퍼프(200)로부터 전달되는 충격을 제차 완충하도록 형성되는 제2완충퍼프(300)와; 상기 제2완충퍼프(300) 상부면에 접착제에 의해 열융착결합되고, 사용자가 파지하여 사용이 용이하도록 상부면에 손잡이밴드(410)가 결합된 외피층(400)과; 사용자 안면이나 피부에 접촉시 가해지는 충격을 상기 제1,2완층퍼프와 함께 더 완충하고, 내부에 충진되는 에어를 피부로 배출하여 냉각하도록 상기 접촉흡수퍼프(100)가 결합된 제1완충퍼프(200)와 외피층(400)이 결합된 제2완충퍼프(300)를 서로 마주보게 대응시켜 외연 둘레를 따라 열접착 또는 초음파접착하여 외주연으로 에어의 출입이 제한되게 기밀접착테(502)를 형성하며, 상기 기밀접착테(502)에 의해 상기 제1완충퍼프(200)와 제2완충퍼프(300)가 상하방향으로 볼록하게 형성된 사이 공간에 에어가 충진되는 에어셀(500);이 형성된 것으로, 외부충격에 따른 화장용퍼프의 충격완충능력을 향상시키고, 에어셀에 충진된 에어에 의해 피스톤작용과 같은 효과를 발휘하게 되어 내부에 충진된 에어를 피부로 배출하여 피부냉각함과 함께 화장품의 흡수를 제한하여 화장품 정량흡수를 유도하고, 다량의 화장품이 제1완충퍼프측으로의 흡수를 제한하여 화장품 사용을 절약할 수 있으며, 제1완충퍼프측으로 화장품이 흡수되지 않아 화장품 경화로 인한 충격완충능력의 저하를 방지하여 지속적 사용감이 우수하고, 사용수명이 증대되며, 손잡이가 부착되는 외피층으로 화장품이 전달되지 않아 사용자 손을 오염시키지 않아 위생적 사용이 가능한 에어셀이 구비된 화장용 퍼프에 관한 것이다.

A flexible, non water absorbing insulation system is described for insulating articles exposed to relatively cold temperatures. This insulation system is especially adapted for insulating delivery or transfer hoses used with cryogenic liquid transfer operations. The insulating material (10) is a thermoplastic sheet-like layer (16) having gas-filled cells (18) to which is attached or bonded a metallized thermoplastic film (12). In one embodiment, the metallized thermoplastic material is bonded to the smooth side of the thermoplastic sheet-like material. In another embodiment, metallized thermoplastic material (12) is bonded to both sides of the cell-containing thermoplastic material. The sheet-like insulating material is wrapped at least twice around the hose or article to be insulated. Slits may be cut in the insulating material to make the hose self-draining whereby any condensed water can gravity drain once the temperature is above the freezing point of water. The wrapped hose may also be wrapped or encased in a flexible protective material such as leather, fabric, or knitted material.

A metallic structural panel having a plurality of internal passages separated by supporting ribs and its method of fabrication. The fabrication assembly of the metallic structural panel is essentially comprised of a housing defining an internal cavity, a plurality of internal tubes, a means for segregating the internal cavity into a pressurized and an evacuation section and a means for establishing a pressure differential between the pressurized and evacuation sections. The metallic structural panel is superplastically formed and diffusion bonded such that independent passages are formed between supporting ribs within the internal cavity of the housing. Embodiments of the fabrication assembly for manufacturing metallic structural panel are also provided which produced a curved structural panel. These embodiments utilize a curved housing along with either curved end plates or curved internal tubes, depending on whether the supporting ribs are desired to be straight or curved, respectively. If enhanced heat transfer is desired, there is provided an additional embodiment which incorporates a network of cooling tubes.

Les couches s'aplatissent par aspiration sur le moule (1), alors que les cavités (6) du corps creux en plastique rempli d'air absorbent la pression de compression et ne s'aplatissent que légèrement, de sorte que leurs parties inférieures et supérieures se lient intimement aux couches (3, 9). A plastic molded body having a very high resistance with respect to a minimal weight is produced by introducing into a mold (1), between two layers (3, 9) of fiber reinforced plastic, preferably prepreg sheets, at least a hollow body (6) of hermetically sealed plastic filled with air. The plastic hollow body (6) is surrounded by a plastic layer (8), preferably a prepreg sheet, which adheres well to the layers (3, 9) when they harden. The layers are flattened by suction on the mold (1), while the cavities (6) of the plastic hollow body filled with air absorb the compression pressure and flatten only slightly, so that their lower parts and upper ones bind intimately to the layers (3, 9).
