If an output set value different from a previous output set value is set, the PLC 5 obtains the correction value starting from the cumulative emission time upon modification. As a result, the UV irradiation apparatus enables power consumption necessary for emission of UV rays to be reduced, and UV ray output to be kept constant regardless of the cumulative emission time, even if the output set value is modified.

The invention relates to a method for verifying a printing plate, specifically a gravure cylinder, for errors in an engraving of the printing plate, comprising the following steps: Generating at least two proofs using a printing plate to be verified, capturing at least one digital image each of the at least two proofs with an image-capturing unit, comparing each of the digital images of the at least two proofs with the engraving template of the printing plate, wherein the comparison comprises the following steps: Detecting deviations between each of the images and the engraving template, and verifying that the detected deviations occur in identical fashion on the digital images of all of the at least two proofs, wherein a pseudo error is indicated if the comparison does not show identical deviations between the digital images of the at least two proofs, and wherein identical deviations indicate an engraving defect in the printing plate. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the generation of at least two proofs includes the generation of a respective monochrome print of the printing plate.3. Systems and methods for aligning preprinted images on a roll of substrate to the moving components of a web press are disclosed. A method in accordance with one embodiment includes determining the speed of the moving components of the press, determining the speed of the web of preprinted images and adjusting the speed of the web of preprinted image to match the speed of the web. In particular embodiments, a press which produces rolls of preprinted material can be modified to change the equivalent cutoff length of the press. Techniques herein include a bladder-based dispense system using an elongate bladder configured to selectively expand and contract to assist with dispense actions. This dispense system compensates for filter-lag, which often accompanies fluid filtering for microfabrication. This dispense system also provides a high-purity and high precision dispense unit. A meniscus sensor monitors a position of a meniscus of process fluid at a nozzle. The elongate bladder unit is used to maintain a position of the meniscus at a particular location by selectively expanding or contracting the bladder, thereby moving or holding a meniscus position. Expansion of the elongate bladder is also used for a suck-back action after completing a dispense action.
