A line of ink nozzles in an ink-jet recording head is inclined obliquely from a scanning line, and one pixel is formed by a plurality of ink droplets discharged from different ink nozzles. Thus, a high halftone recording image without stripes (banding) due to a variation of a discharged ink volume or unevenness of recording image density, can be obtained. Moreover, since there is a large degree of freedom in designing an amount of the discharged ink volume, high packing density of ink nozzles can be easily achieved.

Serial copier, scanner, and printer employing continuous media transport

Номер: US0005946010A1

A copier, scanner, or printer has serial scanning and/or printing heads. A uniform relative motion is maintained in a longitudinal direction between the head(s) and the scanning and/or printing media. The head(s) move cyclically back and forth at an acute angle to the longitudinal direction, so that each scanning element and/or each printing element scans or prints a pixel line perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The acute angle and the rate of relative uniform motion are preferably adjustable according to the width of the area to be scanned or printed. For color copying, scanning, or printing, the scanning and/or printing elements are grouped according to color, and are aligned so that the same pixel lines are scanned or printed in different colors.

A relief print master is created by means of a printhead that jets droplets of a polymerisable liquid on a cylindrical sleeve. The droplets follow a spiral path (950, 951) on the cylindrical sleeve. In a multiple printhead unit, there are different spiral paths associated with the constituting printheads in the multiple printhead unit. The distance between the spiral paths is not even. The invention provides a method and a system so that the distance between these spiral paths becomes even by adjusting the distance (920,921) measured in the direction of the cylindrical support between marking elements of different rows of the multiple print head unit. The system can also be used for the creation of other types of print masters, such as offset print plates.

Fast Measurement of Droplet Parameters in Industrial Printing System

Номер: US20180146162A1

A droplet measurement system (DMS) is used in concern with an industrial printer used to fabricate a thin film layer of a flat panel electronic device. A clear tape serves as a printing substrate to receive droplets from hundreds of nozzles simultaneously, while an optics system photographs the deposited droplets through the tape (i.e., through a side opposite the printhead). This permits immediate image analysis of deposited droplets, for parameters such as per-nozzle volume, landing position and other characteristics, without having to substantially reposition the DMS or printhead. The tape can then be advanced and used for a new measurement. By providing such a high degree of concurrency, the described system permits rapid measurement and update of droplet parameters for printers that use hundreds or thousands of nozzles, to provide a real-time understanding of per-nozzle expected droplet parameters, in a manner that can be factored into print planning. 1. A shift amount detecting chart is formed on web paper, and the shift amount detecting chart is photographed by an image pickup unit. An image processor calculates shift amounts smaller than a maximum shift amount in absolute values as correction values based on a variation trace of density peak positions from image data corresponding to the shift amount detecting chart photographed by the image pickup unit. A controller corrects printing timing with these correction values. Consequently, even when temporal variations occur to the shift amounts within a predetermined length, since the correction values are calculated based on the shift amounts smaller than the maximum shift amount in absolute values, an excessive correction can be prevented, thereby to improve printing quality. 1. A printing apparatus for printing on a printing medium , comprising:a transport device for transporting the printing medium in a transport direction;a plurality of print heads arranged separately in the transport direction for printing on the printing medium; [ a first line segment group of first line segments formed as arranged at constant intervals over a predetermined length in the transport direction, and having a long side in the primary scanning direction, by a reference print head serving as reference position in the transporting direction among the plurality of print heads, and', 'a second line segment group of second line segments formed by an objective print head disposed separately in the transport direction from the reference print head among the plurality of print heads, to have a long side in the primary scanning direction, and located in a middle in the transport direction between the first line segments, or at centers in the transport direction of the first line segments;, 'a middle chart printed in a middle portion of the printing medium in a primary scanning direction perpendicular to the transport direction, and having, 'one-side peripheral charts formed separately on one ...

There is a case where a reading unit cannot read an entire area of a recording medium in a scanning direction of a carriage, or a case where reading accuracy is low in the entire area. In such a case, a result of reading a test pattern for adjusting an ejection timing at each position cannot be obtained with high accuracy in a single reading operation. In order to solve the issue, a recording apparatus performs a reading operation a plurality of times and generates, based on results from the respective operations, an adjustment value for adjusting the ejection timing at each position in the scanning direction. 1. A recording apparatus comprising:a carriage configured to mount a recording unit and a reading unit thereon and to scan in a scanning direction intersecting with a predetermined direction, the recording unit including an ejection port array in which a plurality of ejection ports for ejection of ink is arranged in the predetermined direction;a conveyance member configured to convey a recording medium in a conveyance direction intersecting with the scanning direction;a control unit configured to control, using the recording unit, a recording operation for recording a test pattern including patches on an entire area of the recording medium in the scanning direction in order to control the ejection of ink at each position in the scanning direction, and to control, using the reading unit, a reading operation for reading the test pattern recorded on the recording medium while causing the carriage to scan; anda generation unit configured to generate an adjustment value for controlling the ejection of ink at each position in the scanning direction, based on a result of the reading in the reading operation, wherein the control unit executes a first reading operation for reading the test pattern, and a second reading operation for reading the test pattern in a state where a leading edge and a trailing edge of the recording medium on which the test pattern is recorded ...
