Various embodiments of an electric wheelchair or other type of motorized conveyance having an adjustable canopy are disclosed. The electric wheelchair includes a motorized chair coupled to the adjustable canopy with a support structure that allows an individual to manually adjust the orientation and/or configuration of the adjustable canopy. The support structure includes a tubing arrangement consisting of plurality of smaller-diameter tubes secured to a respective one of a plurality of larger-diameter tubes, which are coupled together by a collar. Each collar defines a channel configured to receive a smaller-diameter tube and a larger-diameter tube in telescopic relation to each other. In addition, each collar defines a middle portion formed between a first side portion and a second side portion that form respective first and second slots with the middle portion. The channel defines a first smaller passage in communication with a second larger passage in which the first smaller passage is configured to receive the smaller-diameter tube and the second larger passage is configured to receive the larger-diameter tube when coupling the two tubes together. In some embodiments, the adjustable canopy includes a solar panel arrangement that generates energy to charge the battery of the motorized chair and may be reoriented or reconfigured when the adjustable canopy is adjusted. 1. A child entertainment assembly for mounting toys to a wheelchair includes a frame that is mountable to a wheelchair to extend over a child that is seated in the wheelchair. A pair of clamps is each of the clamps is coupled to the frame for mounting the frame on the wheelchair. A winch is rotatably integrated into the frame and a plurality of cables is each coupled to the winch. A plurality of toys is each coupled to a respective one of the cables such that each of the toys is accessible to the child that is seated in the wheelchair. Each of the toys is drawn upwardly toward the central member when the winch is rotated in a first direction. Conversely, each of the toys is lowered from the central member when the winch is rotated in a second direction. 1. A child entertainment assembly for mounting to a wheelchair thereby facilitating suspended toys to be accessible to a child in the wheelchair , said assembly comprising:a frame being mountable to a wheelchair wherein said frame is configured to extend over a child that is seated in the wheelchair;a pair of clamps, each of said clamps being coupled to said frame wherein each of said clamps is configured to engage the wheelchair for mounting said frame on the wheelchair;a winch being rotatably integrated into said frame, said winch being rotatable in a first direction or a second direction;a plurality of cables, each of said cables being coupled to said winch, each of said cables extending outwardly through said central member, each of said cables being drawn into said central member when said winch is rotated in said first direction, each of said cables extending outwardly from said central member when said winch is rotated in said second direction; anda plurality of toys, each of said toys being coupled to a respective one of said cables wherein each of said toys is configured to be accessible to the child that is seated in the wheelchair, each of said toys being drawn upwardly toward said central member when said ...

An anti-tip system is provided for improving the stability of a powered vehicle, such as a powered wheelchair. The vehicle includes a drive-train assembly pivotally mounted to a main structural frame. A suspension system biases the drive-train assembly and its connected anti-tip wheel to a predetermined resting position. The drive-train assembly bi-directionally rotates about a pivot in response to torque applied to or acceleration forces on the vehicle. A linkage arrangement is provided and is characterized by a suspension arm pivotally mounting to the main structural frame about a pivot at one end thereof and an anti-tip wheel at the other end. The linkage may further include at least one link operable to transfer the bi-directional displacement of the drive-train assembly to the suspension arm. The link may include a bell crank member and/or may be resiliently compressible.

Wheelchair suspension system comprising of an encased set of springs with a damper, and method for enhancing stability

A wheelchair suspension system which includes two springs with at least one damper and a central movable component that attaches to a wheel on a wheelchair. The damper is positioned in the center of at least one of the two springs and resists sudden force acting against the wheelchair with the two springs, the central movable component moves either in an upward or downward direction when there is force acting on it from both the springs and damper or by the uneven terrain. The wheelchair suspension apparatus will create greater stability for the entire wheelchair and increase the comfort of the user.

A patient containment system for securing a patient to a patient transport apparatus, comprising a first lower strap and a second lower strap. Each of the first lower strap and the second lower strap have a thigh region, a waist region, and a connection region arranged between the thigh region and the waist region.
