A crosslinkable aromatic polyester that is formed by polymerizing certain precursor monomers in the presence of a biaromatic alkynyl crosslinking agent is provided. The crosslinkable aromatic polyester can have a relatively high melting temperature. For example, the melting temperature of the crosslinkable polyester may be from about 200°C to about 370°C. While having a relatively high melting temperature, the crosslinkable polyester can maintain a relatively low melt viscosity so that it can be readily removed from the polymerization reactor without solidifying therein.

A variety of polymers and copolymers suitable for use as biologically compatible constructs and, as a non-limiting specific example, in the formation of degradable tissue scaffolds as well methods for synthesizing these polymers and copolymers are described. The present invention relates to a method for preparing an unsaturated polyester resin for glass fiber-reinforced plastic through pultrusion molding using an unsaturated polyester resin and glass fibers. According to the present invention, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) oligomers of industrial waste, prepared for industrial application, and PET generated from living goods are pulverized to obtain recycled PET chips. Then, the PET chips are used as a main ingredient and allowed to react with a glycol and polyhydric acid at high temperature to obtain unsaturated polyester resin oligomers. In addition, the unsaturated polyester resin oligomers are mixed with reactive monomers having a low possibility of odor emission and fire accidents, instead of styrene monomers having a high possibility of evaporation, odor emission and fire accidents at room temperature, to improve the work environment and to provide protrusion molded reinforced plastic with improved mechanical properties.

Pre-polymers for use as tissue sealants and adhesives, and methods of making and using thereof are provided. The pre-polymers have flow characteristics such that they can be applied through a syringe or catheter but are sufficiently viscous to remain in place at the site of application and not run off the tissue. The pre-polymers are also sufficiently hydrophobic to resist washout by bodily fluids. The pre-polymers are stable in bodily fluids; that is the pre-polymer does not spontaneously crosslink in bodily fluids absent the presence of an intentionally applied stimulus to initiate crosslinking. Upon crosslinking, the adhesive exhibits significant adhesive strength in the presence of blood and other bodily fluids. The adhesive is sufficiently elastic that it is able to resist movement of the underlying tissue. The adhesive can provide a hemostatic seal. The adhesive is biodegradable and biocompatible, causing minimal inflammatory response.

The method comprises polymerizing glycerol as the only alcohol in the polyester and at least one saturated dicarboxylic acid such as succinic acid or sebacic acid, optionally with one or more unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or derivative thereof, such as fumaric acid or maleic anhydride, and optionally with a monocarboxylic acid such as palmitic acid or stearic acid. These bio-based polyesters can be used as impact or toughness enhancers in thermoplastic polymeric blends, for example with biopolymers such as polylactic acid or polybutylene succinate. The glycerol-based polyesters also have applications as shape-memory materials having a temperature of transition (T trans ) between 21°C and 37°C.

Polyester resins are obtained by copolymerizing unsaturated compounds with unsaturated polyesters obtained by condensation of polyhydric alcohols with polybasic unsaturated carboxylic acids or esters which comprise the low molecular weight polymer of 2 to 10 mols. of methacrylic acid esters, e.g. methyl methacrylate, or their saponification products. Polyhydric alcohols specified are ethylene, diethylene and triethylene glycols, butylene glycol, butane- and hexane-diols, butene-2,3-diol and thiodiglycol. Optional polyester ingredients are itaconic, tetrahydrophthalic and adipic acids and anhydrides and stabilizers. The unsaturated polyesters may be copolymerized with methyl, allyl, cyclohexyl or 3-methoxy-butyl methacrylate, divinyl benzene or ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, e.g. using dibenzoyl peroxide. The low molecular weight polymers may be prepared as described in U.S.A. Specifications 2,232,785 and 2,244,645, and German Specifications 855,554 and 903,932, or by the thermal decomposition of polymeric methacrylic acids or esters. Dyestuffs and fillers, e.g. glass fibres, may also be incorporated and articles such as car bodies, boat hulls, aircraft parts, roof coverings, wall panellings and blinds, may be produced and the resins may also be used in electrical applications, for embedding biological specimens, and in the production of sculptures, objets d'art, jewellery and devotional objects.

A mixture of compounds useful to make a polymer or a prepolymer, the mixture of compounds including compounds having the formula I; wherein R1 is H, acryloyl, methacryloyl or vinyl, wherein R2 is acryloyl, methacryloyl or vinyl, wherein compounds having the formula I consist of a mixture of cis and trans-1,3- and 1 ,4-substituted cyclohexane and wherein the trans- 1,4-substituted cyclohexane content of the compounds having the formula I is less than forty mole percent. A process for producing a mixture of compounds including compounds having the formula II: wherein compounds having the formula II consist of a mixture of cis and trans- 1,3- and 1 ,4- methanol substituted cyclohexane and wherein the trans- 1,4-methanol substituted cyclohexane content of the compounds having the formula II is less than twenty five mole percent.

本发明公开了一种PET改性不饱和聚酯树脂的制备方法,包括以下步骤:步骤(1)将甘油、高沸点二元醇、废PET和催化剂加入反应釜中,搅拌,并快速升温至220℃进行保温反应,废PET全部醇解后继续保温1‑2h;保温结束,降温至150℃以下;步骤(2)加入不饱和二元酸酐、一元醇和低沸点二元醇,升温至150‑155℃,保温反应0.5h,再逐步升温至195‑205℃进行恒温反应,待出水量达到理论值的85‑90%时,抽真空将水分排出,反应进行至酸值低于30mgKOH/g;步骤(3)降温至155‑160℃,加入阻聚剂,采用苯乙烯稀释,冷却、过滤。该方法制备的树脂与苯乙烯相容性好,整个工艺反应过程平稳可控,所得树脂颜色浅,树脂固化后韧性和物理强度较好;该方法原料来源广泛,减少环境污染,降低生产成本。

Pre-polymers for use as tissue sealants and adhesives, and methods of making and using thereof are provided. The pre-polymers have flow characteristics such that they can be applied through a syringe or catheter but are sufficiently viscous to remain in place at the site of application and not run off the tissue. The pre-polymers are also sufficiently hydrophobic to resist washout by bodily fluids. The pre-polymers are stable in bodily fluids; that is the pre-polymer does not spontaneously crosslink in bodily fluids absent the presence of an intentionally applied stimulus to initiate crosslinking. Upon crosslinking, the adhesive exhibits significant adhesive strength in the presence of blood and other bodily fluids. The adhesive is sufficiently elastic that it is able to resist movement of the underlying tissue. The adhesive can provide a hemostatic seal. The adhesive is biodegradable and biocompatible, causing minimal inflammatory response.

本发明涉及功能材料技术领域,具体涉及一种利用废弃PET制备不饱和聚酯树脂的方法。利用废弃PET制备不饱和聚酯树脂的方法,将PET聚酯、1,2‑丙二醇和醋酸锌加入到四口烧瓶中,接上电动搅拌器、冷凝管、热电偶和导气管,加热,当PET聚酯片软化后浸没在丙二醇中时开启搅拌器,加热回流3.5h;当醇解产物的温度降到150℃左右时,再升温进行缩聚反应,当反应体系的温度降低到150℃时停止通入氮气,加入对苯二酚,继续搅拌0.5 h,当温度降至70~90℃时,加入稀释剂,搅拌,使不饱和聚酯与苯乙烯相溶,出料过滤,冷却后得到乳白色粘性液体即为不饱和聚酯树脂。本发明成品表观物理性能与市售不饱和聚酯树脂相近,为综合回收利用废弃的PET提供了一条途径。
