The present invention provide a laminated polyester film which is capable of ensuring a good dimensional stability without being subjected to such a surface saponification treatment with an alkali solution as required for triacetyl cellulose films, is available at low costs, exhibits a good adhesion property to adhesives and a high total light transmittance, and can be suitably used as a protective film for polarizing films. The laminated polyester film of the present invention comprises a polyester film; a coating layer formed on one surface of the polyester film which comprises an acrylic resin or a urethane resin as a main component; and a coating layer formed on the other surface of the polyester film which comprises a urethane resin having a polycarbonate structure. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the coating layer comprising the acrylic resin or the urethane resin as a main component has a thickness of 0.04 to 0.15 μm, and the polyester film comprises an ultraviolet absorber.

The gas barrier film including, on a base, a first gas barrier layer which is formed by a physical vapor deposition method or a chemical vapor deposition method and contains Si and N; and a second gas barrier layer which is formed by coating a solution containing a polysilazane compound, wherein the second gas barrier layer is subjected to conversion treatment by being irradiated with a vacuum ultraviolet ray; and, when the composition of each layer is represented by SiO x N y , the distribution of the composition SiO x N y of the second gas barrier layer in a thickness direction satisfies a condition specified in the following (A): (A) the second gas barrier layer includes 50 nm or more of a region of 0.25≦x≦1.1 and 0.4≦y≦0.75 in the thickness direction.

In the sheet, a surface of the sheet has an arithmetic average roughness Ra (JIS B0633: 2001) of 0.7 μm or less, and the reflectance at a detection angle equal to a regular reflection angle ±5°, measured by a variable angle photometer when the surface is irradiated with incident light at an incident angle of 75°, is 50% or less of the reflectance at the regular reflection angle.

A process for application of metal on a substrate surface comprises applying a mixture of a solvent, a polymerizable monomer, and a photoinitiator on a substrate surface, wherein the photoinitiator does not form two phases together with the monomer and the solvent, i.e. it forms an amorphous mixture without any crystals. The monomer is able to polymerize to a polymer comprising at least one carboxylic group. Thereafter the solvent is evaporated. Polymerization is induced by irradiating the applied dried mixture. Ions are applied and reduced to metal and thereafter further metal can be deposited. The method can be used in industrial processes, both 2D and 3D surfaces can be coated with metal. Materials sensitive to standard grafting chemicals and/or polymers containing halogen atoms can be coated.
