Bitumen emulsion (I) for the prodn. of cold mix or road surfacing contains 50-99 wt.% bitumen (II) and 1-50 wt.% flux component (III) consisting of a vegetable oil such as rapeseed oil, a deriv. thereof such as the fatty acid component or fatty acid mixt., a transesterification prod. such as rapeseed oil methyl ester, or alkyd resin-contg. derivs. of rapeseed oil. This binder phase is emulsified in an aq. phase, and the emulsion may also contain additives, coupling agents, emulsifiers, drying agents, elastomers and/or crosslinkers, etc. Also claimed is a cold mix contg. 3-10 wt.% pref. binder phase (see below), 90-94 wt.% stone chips and opt. emulsion breakers such as salts, alkalis or acids. Also claimed is a process for surfacing roads, paths or embankments etc., by spraying emulsion (I) on the base at the rate of 0.8-1.5 kg effective binder per m<2>, spreading on the stone chips, opt. rolling, and sweeping up the excess.

Plantation rubber is treated with oils, greases, waxes, resins, soaps and the like, and other ingredients are added to it, to bring it to a condition of softness and plasticity similar to that of reclaim, to enable it to be used as a substitute therefor. According to an example, 1 part of linseed oil is emulsified in 2 parts of a 5 per cent potash solution. 11 1/4 lbs. of this p emulsion are added to 100 lbs. of latex with agitation, and the solids are coagulated, washed, and cr<\>zeped as usual. Ten per cent of carbon black is gradually incorporated on the rolls to give a substitute for black reclaim, and confers similar qualities to a rubber mix. White and red reclaims may be imitated by the addition of zinc white, and iron oxide, respectively. In modifications, the oil &c. may be added to the latex without previous emulsification, and the other ingredients may be added prior to coagulation of the latex. The hybrid crude oil is composed of an oil-based solution and petroleum-based coatings that were extracted from a petroleum-containing material. Also, the sand mastic asphalt mixture is to be used as a waterproof layer and an intermediate layer of a pavement body by heating and melting the same in the field and laying the same to a thickness of 1 to 3 cm, and can finish the pavement construction by laying pavement fibers on the top, and then laying asphalt concrete with a thickness of 5 to 8 cm on the pavement fibers without tack coating, thereby reducing fuel consumption and construction cost. In addition, the present invention is advantageous for maintenance and the environment by re-utilizing a thick sand mastic intermediate layer during resurfacing, and laying only the asphalt concrete.

The present invention relates to an artificial turf filler using cork. The artificial turf filler includes 10-40 parts by weight of cork chips having a water content of 5% or less on the dry weight basis and an average particle diameter of 1-2 mm, 10-20 parts by weight of styrene butadiene copolymer (SBC) resin, 5-15 parts by weight of polyester, 10-40 parts by weight of paraffin-based or paraffin naphthene-based mineral oil, and 30-60 parts by weight of diatomaceous earth, wherein the cork chips are exposed at least partially on the surface, and voids are formed between the surface-exposed cork chips to allow water derived from the outside to be absorbed thereto, thereby preventing an increase in the temperature of the artificial turf filler. Therefore, the artificial turf filler promotes the safety of users, provides a pleasant environment to users, and reduces self-adhesion to be used for a long time.

A coating layer having excellent adhesive property and impact resistance can be formed therewith on a stainless steel substrate without chemical pretreatment or coating with a primer.
