This invention provides a method for improving the physico-chemical and usage properties of an existing lubricant, of a solid or liquid consistency, such as gear oils, engine oils and all-purpose oils. The method is based on complementing the composition of the existing lubricant with a mixture of several solid substances (thickeners), in an amount varying from 5 to 35 weight percent of the initial existing lubricant. As a result of their addition, a considerable improvement in a number of the lubricant's properties is achieved. For example, an increase in saturation load, as measured on a 4-ball apparatus of 1600 N to 3150 N; improved friction coefficient μ, the wear scar under 600 N load, and more. Using the method specified in the invention, it is possible to make significant improvements to the quality of a lubricant at relatively low cost. 1. Universal filter system and method for fluid containers

Номер: US20130264262A1
Принадлежит: Individual

A universal filter system is provided for filtering a fluid in a fluid container, such as water in a water bottle. The system can be selectively attached to and removed from a plurality of fluid containers. For instance, the filter system can be applied to a first fluid container. After use, the filter system can be removed from the first fluid container. The filter system can then be used in connection with the first fluid container again or with a different fluid container. The filter system can include a filter and one or more container-engaging elements that are configured to sealingly engage a portion of a plurality of fluid containers, including interior and/or exterior portions of such fluid containers. In this way, the leakage of a fluid from the container can be prevented and the fluid must pass through the filter before exiting the outlet of the fluid container.

A material in accordance with in which the species selected from the group consisting of sulphates claim 14 , phosphates claim 14 , nitrates claim 14 , and carbonates is derived essentially from binder precursors.1620.-. (canceled) This application is a divisional of U.S. application Ser. No. 12/599,858, filed Mar. 30, 2010, which is a U.S. national counterpart application of International Application Serial No. PCT/EP2008/060185, filed Aug. 1, 2008 under 35 USC §371, which claims priority to GB Patent Application Serial Number 0715100.4, filed Aug. 3, 2007, GB Patent Application Serial Number 0807777.8, filed Apr. 29, 2008, and GB Patent Application Serial Number 0810297.2, filed Jun. 6, 2008, the entire disclosures of each of which are hereby incorporated herein by reference. This invention relates to binders, for example for glass wool or stone wool insulation.WO 2007/014236 (incorporated herein by reference) relates to binders, including binders comprising Mallard reactants. One particular binder disclosed is based on a triammonium citrate—dextrose system derived from mixing dextrose monohydrate, anhydrous citric acid, water and aqueous ammonia. One of the many advantages of this binder system is that it is formaldehyde free. One aspect of the present invention provides a binder solution in accordance with claim ; the dependent claims define alternative and/or preferred ...

The invention provides a grease composition comprising: 1. A grease composition comprising:(a) a polymer thickened grease;(b) an acid having a pKa in the range of 2 7 with the pKa being measured in water at 25° C.; and(c) a metal salt.2. The grease composition according to claim 1 , further comprising the step of applying the grease composition to a metal surface of a mechanical component claim 1 , the metal salt reacting with the acid and the acid or the acid so obtained etches the metal surface claim 1 , thereby forming on the metal surface a layer including the metal of the metal salt.3. The grease composition according to claim 2 , wherein the metal of the metal salt is selected from the group consisting of Group 1A claim 2 , 1B claim 2 , 2A claim 2 , 2B claim 2 , 4A claim 2 , 5A claim 2 , 7B and 8B elements of the Periodic Table.5. The grease composition according to further comprising a polymeric ester in an amount in the range of from 0.1-40 wt % claim 4 , based on the total weight of the grease composition.6. The grease composition according to claim 5 , whereinthe acid is a polyprotic acid having two pKa values in the range of from 2-10.7. The grease composition according to claim 6 , wherein the acid is phosphoric acid.8. The grease composition according to claim 7 , wherein the polymeric thickener includes at least one component selected from the group consisting of natural rubber claim 7 , polypropylene claim 7 , polyisoprene claim 7 , polybutadiene claim 7 , poly(styrene-butadiene) claim 7 , poly(ethylene-propylene-diene) claim 7 , polyurethane claim 7 , polymethacrylate claim 7 , polyisobutylene claim 7 , poly(isobutylene-succinic acid) claim 7 , poly(isobutylene-succinic acid-polyacrylamide) claim 7 , polyurea and polyethylene.9. The grease composition according to claim 8 , wherein the polymeric thickener comprises a first component and a second component claim 8 , with the first component having a higher weight average molecular weight than the ...
