[Also in Groups VIII and XV] Relates to a method and apparatus for producing manifold stationery comprising a plurality A, B, C, D . . . of paper webs, such as hectograph paper, Fig. 11. As shown in Fig. 1, the webs are drawn from reels by apparatus 10, allowed to fall in festoons before entering guiding apparatus 11, and then pass through a press 12. In the press, Figs. 3, and 5, the webs, superimposed upon one another pass through a rotary punch 33, perforating rollers 27, 28 and " crash " printing rollers 22, 23, and are transported by pin belts 102, 102A (see also Fig. 10), to a delivery pin wheel 97. Pin belts 100, 100A and 101, 101A are positioned between the rotary punch 33 and the perforating rollers 27, 28 and its perforating roller 27, 28, and the printing rollers 22, 23 respectively. The apparatus 10 comprises continuously driven rollers 65 with spring-loaded nip rollers 66, Fig. 6. The guiding apparatus 11 includes a frame 85 which supports a series of bars 86, 87, Figs. 8 and 9. Each bar 86 is connected to the frame 85 by wing nuts 88 and carries collars 89, 90 which, in turn support the bar 87. Each collar is adjustable with respect to the bar 86 to alter the degree of wrap-round of the web. A brush 91, Fig. 3, may be used for smoothing wrinkles in the web. Additionally, a flat bar 98, Fig. 5, resting freely on the web, in advance of the punch 33, operates to smooth wrinkles in the web. A further embodiment, Figs. 12 and 13 (not shown), has no perforating rollers allowing a modified positioning of the pin belts. In two further embodiments, Figs. 14 and 15 respectively (not shown), a single row of holes is punched along one edge of the web.
