Wire casing and method of making the same

An encased wire for a garment includes a wire with first and second ends and a casing surrounding the wire. The casing includes a first fabric ribbon woven from a polyamide that resists penetration by at least one of the ends of the wire. The casing has a first edge, a second edge, and a first, stitched seam disposed adjacent to the first edge to close the casing, thereby containing the wire. The casing may be a single layer construction or a multi-layer construction. Selected regions of the casing resist penetration by the wire. Other selected regions provide increased comfort to the wearer. A sewing machine and a method of manufacture of the casing also are provided.

A method comprising the steps of:providing a portion of double cloth comprising a first layer joined to a second layer, the first layer being joined to the second layer by means of a two-dimensional distribution of joining threads obtained by weaving;detaching the first layer from the second layer along an edge zone of the double cloth, so as to define on the first layer a band in which the first layer is separated from the second layer;cutting said band of the first layer, so that the second layer exhibits a projecting strip which projects with respect to a free edge of the first layer;arranging a further portion of fabric in contact with the second layer;joining the further portion of fabric to the second layer by means of a joining line arranged along the projecting strip;after the step of joining, turning the further portion of fabric, such as to move the further portion of fabric away from the second layer.2. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the first layer is detached from the second layer by introducing therebetween a blade for breaking a plurality of threads of said two-dimensional distribution of joining threads.3. Disclosed herein is a ruching tape comprising a flexible elastic ruching strip having a back surface configured to removably adhere to a textile and a non-adhesive front surface, the ruching strip having a length, a width in the range of about 3-30 mm, a thickness in the range of 0.1 to 2 mm, and an elastic extensibility in a direction parallel to the length in the range of about 10 to about 300 percent when manually pulled by a user. A decorative engineered self-hem and a method to prepare the decorative engineered self-hem in a single fabric is disclosed herein. It is prepared without having any additional cut and sew, with various weave patterns designed in a design area 10-20 inches from a selvedge area and the rest of the fabric is woven in conventional weave pattern such as satin/twill. The method of preparation includes cutting the fabric parallel to a selvedge area; folding the fabric overlapping the selvedge area; and folding the full fabric horizontally and, at the same time, hemming of edge of the selvedge area to finish. 1. A decorative engineered self-hem in a single fabric without having any additional cut and sew , with a weave pattern is designed in a design area 10-20 inches from an edge of the fabric forming a selvedge area , and the rest of the fabric is woven in a weave pattern different from the pattern of the design area.2. A method for seaming cloths of protective clothing includes the steps of: preparing plural cloths for forming protective clothing; having the cloths to form two connecting areas, and then adhering the two connecting areas to form a joint band; utilizing a first auxiliary fixture to fold the joint band to form a folded joint band; utilizing a second auxiliary fixture to fold two lateral sides of a water-resistant cloth into two folded edge areas, and having the two folded edge areas to be adhered respectively onto the folded joint band, such that the water-resistant cloth wraps the folded joint band; and, applying a sewing machine needle to have a water-repellent thread to penetrate repeatedly the two folded edge areas and the folded joint band along a sewing path, so that the water-resistant cloth is fixed to the folded joint band. In one embodiment, a method for forming a dry lamination for a composite fiber material structure, for example a wind turbine blade, includes cutting at least two plies of composite fiber material according to a predetermined pattern, arranging the at least two cut plies of composite fiber material in a predetermined arrangement relative to each other, stitching the at least two cut plies together using a thread to secure the at least two cut plies in the predetermined arrangement to form the dry lamination, and spooling the dry lamination into a single roll. The dry lamination can then be transported without misaligning the plies and placed into a resin infusion tool without requiring manual placement of individual plies of composite fiber material. 1. Anti-pucker apparatus

An anti-puckering apparatus for forming, on a work piece, a line of stitching substantially free from puckering is disclosed. The apparatus includes a removable base which is added to a sewing machine bed surface proximate to a needle and a stitch formation zone. The apparatus also includes a carrier mounted on, and moveable relative to, the base and an endless row of flexible filamentary elements carried by the carrier. The carrier progressively moves subsets of filamentary elements into and out of a stitch formation zone during the formation of a line of stitching. The filamentary elements are presented across a stitch formation zone in advance of an intended line of stitching at an oblique angle relative to a sewing machine bed surface.
