An encased wire for a garment includes a wire with first and second ends and a casing surrounding the wire. The casing includes a first fabric ribbon woven from a polyamide that resists penetration by at least one of the ends of the wire. The casing has a first edge, a second edge, and a first, stitched seam disposed adjacent to the first edge to close the casing, thereby containing the wire. The casing may be a single layer construction or a multi-layer construction. Selected regions of the casing resist penetration by the wire. Other selected regions provide increased comfort to the wearer. A sewing machine and a method of manufacture of the casing also are provided.

A decorative engineered self-hem and a method to prepare the decorative engineered self-hem in a single fabric is disclosed herein. It is prepared without having any additional cut and sew, with various weave patterns designed in a design area 10-20 inches from a selvedge area and the rest of the fabric is woven in conventional weave pattern such as satin/twill. A method for forming a dry lamination for a composite fiber material structure , the method comprising:cutting at least two plies of composite fiber material according to a predetermined pattern;arranging the at least two cut plies of composite fiber material in a predetermined arrangement relative to each other;stitching the at least two cut plies together using a thread to secure the at least two cut plies in the predetermined arrangement to form the dry lamination; andspooling the dry lamination into a single roll.2. Verfahren zum Fixieren von elektronischen Bauelementen auf einem flexiblen, insbesondere textilen, Flächengebilde mittels programmgesteuerter Sticktechnik und Stickmaschine, bei dem eine mechanische Verbindung und elektrische Kontaktierung zwischen Flächengebilde und dem jeweiligen elektronischen Bauelement (8) hergestellt wird, wobei die elektronischen Bauelemente auf einem paillettenartigen Trägersystem angeordnet sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das paillettenartige Trägersystem als bandförmiges Gebilde mit mindestens zwei nebeneinander liegenden, streifenförmigen Bereichen ausgeführt ist, derart, dass ein erster Streifen (5) aus Führungspailletten (1) und ein zweiter Streifen (6) aus Funktionspailletten (7) besteht, wobei der erste und zweite Streifen (5; 6) über jeweils stegförmige Abschnitte (10) verbunden sind, weiterhin die Führungspailletten (1) eine festgelegte, jedoch gleiche Größe und die Funktionspailletten (7) eine davon abweichende, frei wählbare Größe mit größerer Flächenausdehnung besitzen, wobei zum Ausgleich der unterschiedlichen Flächenausdehnung von Führungspailletten (1) zu Funktionspailletten (7) in Streifenlängsrichtung zwischen den Führungspailletten (1) mindestens jeweils eine Opferpaillette (3) befindlich ist und während des Stickvorgangs nur der erste Streifen (5) von der Transporteinrichtung der Stickmaschine aufgenommen wird.
