A cooling module for used in a sewing machine , the sewing machine comprising a forepart and an extension shaft extended through the forepart for rotation relative to the forepart , said cooling module comprising:a sleeve secured to the extension shaft;a stator seat secured on the forepart, the stator seat having a first guide end facing the forepart, an opposing second guide end comprising an axial passage, and an inner space between the first guide end and the second guide end for accommodating a stator set, the axial passage dimensioned to receive part of the sleeve; anda first fan mounted on the sleeve adjacent to the forepart for rotation together with the extension shaft, wherein the stator seat further comprises a plurality of first air inlets arranged to draw air into the stator seat toward the forepart when the first fan is rotation.2. [Also in Groups XXVI and XXXIV] Lubricating.-The bed-shaft 12 is mounted in bearings 13 . . . 16 and provided at one end with an axial bore 42, and lubricant is delivered to this end and fed along the bore as the shaft 12 rotates, by means of a helical spring 49, and thence through radial holes 43, 44, 45 to bearings 46, 47, 48. The shaft 12 is formed with a crank 19 for actuating a connecting rod 20 which is provided with a lubricant splasher 21 dipping into lubricant in a sump 22. As the shaft 12 rotates, the splasher distributes lubricant within the standard 11. Some lubricant collects in a trough 23 and flows into a fitting 24 which supplies a main tube 25 for distribution to tubes 29, 30, 31 leading to bearings. The tube 30 at one end is provided with a wick which extends into a fitting secured to the bearing 16 and supplies lubricant through an opening in a bushing 33 surrounding the end of the shaft 12. One end of the bushing is closed by a cap 40, and a chamber 41 is formed between the end of the cap and the end of the shaft 12, the chamber being partly filled by a wick 50 which is coiled around the spring 49. The spring is fixed at one end to the cap 40. As the shaft rotates the spring 49 acts as a screw pump to force the lubricant along the bore 42. A helical groove 56 is formed on the outer surface of the shaft 12 to prevent escape of lubricant along the inner surface of the bushing 33.

A sewing machine with an adjusting structure capable of controlling a swing center of a swing arm includes an adjusting apparatus and corresponding structures cooperating with the adjusting apparatus. The adjusting apparatus is provided on the pivotal portion with a sliding groove and a sliding block that can horizontally slide with respect to each other. Between the sliding groove and the sliding block are further provided an adjusting bolt and an elastic element. By rotating the adjusting bolt, the relative position between the swinging center around which the whole swing arm pivots and the whole structure of the swing arm can be changed in the horizontal direction accurately and conveniently, thus assuredly adjusting the start point of the travel of the presser foot, achieving the objective of accursedly adjusting position of the travel sensing apparatus.

Class 112 A combined needle clamp and thread guide has a substantially planar face over which the thread runs, an opening adjacent to the lower edge forming a thread path substantially normal to the face the thread passing in a tortuous path from the planar face, through the opening and to the eye of the needle. The needle clamp 5 includes a clamping screw 15 and a band 12 encircling a reduced portion at the lower end 13 of the needle bar to clamp the shank of the needle 4 in a slot 16 in the needle bar. The thread guide 6 of sheet material, is preferably spot welded to the clamp and has a lower edge 21 from which a finger 19 extends downwards and laterally, a slot, which comprises the opening for the thread, being defined between the edge 21 and the upper edge 23 of the finger. Either the edge 23, as shown, or the edge 21, is provided with a thread retaining rise 25. To facilitate the threading of the slot the free end of the finger 19 is set out of vertical registery with a second finger 27 which extends laterally from the thread guide and extends towards the rear of the clamp.

In Fig. 3 a plate 3 is rotatable about a pin 11 mounted in the base 4, the plate and pin being movable upwardly against a spring 12, and any one of a series of holes near the periphery of the plate being engageable with a pin 14 projecting from the plate. In a modification, Fig. 4, a plate 1 is formed with three holes 9 engageable selectively by a pin projecting upwardly from a permanent magnet mounted in the base, a notch 8 in the periphery of the plate being engageable simultaneously by a projection 6 on a sliding inspection plate 7. In a further modification, Fig. 5, two diametrically opposed peripheral notches 8 in a plate 2 are engageable selectively and respectively by the projection 6 and the head 10 of a screw which projects from the base.

A method of forming a strong seam by using a sewing machine, without backstitching. In the sewing machine, a first shuttle hook which rotates in the counterclockwise direction, a first needle, a second needle, and a second shuttle hook which rotates in the counterclockwise direction are arranged in turn in the feed direction. A material to be sewn is fed every time when the needles simultaneously and independently form stitches, so as to form two independent seams which overlap each other in a manner such that the knots of the seams overlap each other on each knotted point, where one of the seams consists of perfect stitches, and the other seam consists of hitch stitches.

Boot-sole sewing-machines; welting and turnshoes; feed by awl. - In shoe-sewing machines such for example as are described in Specifications 17328/08, 20711/09 and 20712/09 the work is given a number of feed movements in each stitchforming cycle in order to distribute the stitches more uniformly at parts where the contour of the work changes rapidly. In the arrangement shown a two-step feed is given by the co-operation of an awl 8 and a channel-guide 10. The awl and guide and other stitching devices are similar to those described in the Specifications above referred to. Work -penetrating movements are given to the awl by a cam-operated lever 28 and feed movements by a roll 32 engaging a cam-groove in the disc 30. Work-engaging and feed movements are communicated to the channel-guide by respective levers 42, 46 engaging grooves in the cam-disc. The formation of the cam-grooves and their timing with respect to the other sewing devices is such as to produce a two-step feed, indicated by the successive positions of the awl and guide shown in Figs. 3 to 8, while the needle is passing through the stages of one cycle.
