Masonry Construction using Single-Component Polyurethane Foam and Foam-Core Blocks

Номер: US20120247061A1
Автор: Addison C. Scheckler
Принадлежит: Calmar Holdings Llc

A masonry wall is constructed of multiple courses of bricks, concrete blocks or other masonry units. A single-component urethane closed cell foam material is employed as bonding agent and is applied to the facing surfaces of the masonry units. The single-component material cures by absorbing water from its environment. The material sets up slowly to permit the mason to adjust positions of the masonry blocks, and cures to hardness in about a day. The amine in the single component material exchanges water molecules from alumina in the masonry units, and permits strong alumina-amine bonding. The blocks may favorably be formed of a pair of masonry faces with a foam core sandwiched between them.

A facade/wall system comprises a number of modules. Each module comprises a plurality of insulating panels which have connection means on opposite sides thereof for interengaging the panels together at joints between the panels. Reinforcing elements in the form of top hat sections bridge the joints between adjacent panels. The top hat reinforcement elements used to interconnect adjacent panels in a module ensure that the composite panels act together as monolithic structure that creates a diaphragm whilst providing a surface to which cladding can be fixed and also providing a cavity between the panels and the cladding attached to the modules. They stiffen the panels and thereby enhance resistance to deflection. The system is cost effective and relatively easy and quick to install. 133-. (canceled)34. VENEER TIE AND WALL ANCHORING SYSTEMS WITH IN-CAVITY CERAMIC AND CERAMIC-BASED THERMAL BREAKS

Номер: US20150007520A1
Автор: Hohmann, JR. Ronald P.
Принадлежит:

Thermally-isolating veneer ties and anchoring systems employing the same are disclosed. A ceramic based thermally-isolating coating is applied to the veneer tie, which is interconnected with a sheetmetal surface-mounted wall anchor. The thermally-isolating ceramic coating is selected from a distinct grouping of materials, that are applied using a specific variety of methods, in one or more layers and cured and cross-linked to provide high-strength adhesion. The ceramic coating maintains a thermal expansion similar to that of the underlying wire formative to prevent cracking. The thermally-coated veneer ties provide an in-cavity thermal break that severs the thermal threads running throughout the cavity wall structure, reducing the U- and K-values of the anchoring system by thermally-isolating the metal components. 1. A high-strength veneer tie for use with an anchoring system in a wall having an inner wythe and an outer wythe , the outer wythe formed from a plurality of successive courses with a bed joint , having a predetermined height , between each two adjacent courses , the inner wythe and the outer wythe in a spaced apart relationship the one with the other forming a cavity therebetween , the veneer tie comprising:a wire formative insertion portion for disposition in the bed joint of the outer wythe;two wire formative cavity portions contiguous with the insertion portion;a wire formative attachment portion contiguous with each of the two cavity portions and opposite the insertion portion, the attachment portion being adapted for interengagement with a receptor of a wall anchor; and,a thermally-isolating ceramic coating disposed on the attachment portion, the coating having low thermal conductivity and transmissivity, the coating being adapted to form a thermal break in the cavity;wherein upon installation within the anchoring system in the cavity wall, the veneer tie restricts thermal transfer between the veneer tie and the wall anchor and between the wall ...

Surface Reinforced Concrete Masonry Units

Номер: US20170016228A1

A masonry wall is formed of masonry block units abutted with one another in series within stacked rows. Each masonry block unit is a concrete body having two opposing exterior side walls defining respective portions of the assembly masonry wall. Vertical reinforcement channels are formed in the exterior side walls of each masonry block unit so as to be open laterally to the exterior. The reinforcement channels align with corresponding channels in the masonry block units in adjacent stacked rows to receive elongate reinforcement members, for example rebar, inserted laterally therein from the exterior surface of the assembly masonry wall. A bonding material can then be recessed laterally into the reinforcement channels so as to bond the reinforcement members to the masonry assembly.

A constructional building material, such as a brick, with at least one base section and a vane extending from the base section. The vane defines, at least in part, a volume of space within an envelope boundary that facilitates fluid flow, such as airflow, through a wall system formed at least in part from one or more constructional building materials. Adjacent vanes, either of the same constructional building material or of different constructional building materials, may operate to provide or define one or more common volumes of space and corresponding fluid flow channels and associated fluid flow paths. A wall system, formed in accordance with the present invention, allows fluid to pass from one side to the other through the wall system while also providing up to complete visual obstruction through the wall depending upon how the wall system is constructed. Additionally, the specific configuration of the vane of a constructional building material can function to provide visual obstruction by extending beyond its own envelope boundary to or beyond the envelope boundary of an adjacent constructional building material. The configuration of the vane in the constructional building material can vary and the wall system may be built from a plurality of constructional building material configurations. Precast Block and Installation System for Construction of Walls and Slabs

Номер: US20180100302A1
Принадлежит: Individual

Precast blocks with a rectangular or quadrangular prism shape contain a normal weight hydraulic concrete casing, lightweight concrete or similar material, for building walls or slabs. The steel-reinforced blocks for walls, mezzanine or rooftop slabs have the length of the wall or slab to build. An acoustic, thermal-insulating lightweight material housed in the interior simultaneous provides for blocks sufficiently lightweight to transport and install manually on-site. For walls, the blocks are tongued and grooved on the top and bottom sides and placed horizontally one on top of the other using block or similar adhesive therebetween. In the corners or “T” intersections, blocks are alternatively placed and form armed headframes for stability and resistance. For blocks for slabs, the tongue and groove system is on the sides, installed one beside the other, using block or similar adhesive therebetween. Transversal rods to the slab are placed to avoid temperature retraction.
