LIGHT WEIGHT MODULAR UNITS FOR STAGGERED STACKED BUILDING SYSTEM

Номер: US20150121775A1
Автор: Lippert Stephen Lee
Принадлежит:

Manufactured modular units for the creation of multistory buildings are staggered stacked so as to create “bonus spaces” between units. Several lighter weight structural versions are presented. The first is a wood frame or cold rolled shape light gauge metal framed modular unit. The second version uses cross laminated timber panels to create the modular unit. The third version uses hot rolled steel shapes for the structure of the modular unit to be staggered stacked. These lighter weight modular units have many advantages. They are more easily transported and craned into position. Seismic forces are decreased. Less modular unit weight also allows for greater unit area. Thus, fewer units need to be transported and fewer units need to be craned. Also, a larger unit area and larger “bonus” area allows for more flexible space planning. 1. (canceled)2. (canceled)3. A data center module is a data center that can be prefabricated using generally standardized off-the-shelf components, and quickly assembled on a collocation site where a shared central facility is provided. The data center module is typically configured to be deployed with other identical data center modules around the central facility both in side-to-side and/or in back-to-back juxtapositions, typically without the need for interleaving space between adjacent modules in order to maximize real estate use. Each data center module typically comprises harden party walls, several floors for accommodating all the necessary electrical and cooling subsystems and for accommodating all the computing machinery (e.g. servers). Though all the data center modules share similar physical configuration, each data center module can be independently customized and operated to accommodate different needs. Each data center module also incorporates a highly efficient hybrid cooling system that can benefit from both air-side and water-side economizers.

A building complex consisting of multi-storey ring-shaped buildings (R) is described, said ring-shaped buildings having sectors () which are trapezoidal in plan view, form a regular polygon ring and enclose a courtyard having a central stairwell (), the storeys () of said sectors being uniformly offset from one another in the height direction and being connected to the stairwell () by passages () which run in a spoke-like fashion, said stairwell having a staircase which circulates in the direction of ascent of the storeys and which has a height of ascent (a) between the passages () corresponding to the storey offset (h). In order to connect the individual ring-shaped buildings (R) to one another, it is proposed that, in the case of ring-shaped buildings (R) comprising an even-numbered polygon ring, the mutually identical ring-shaped buildings (R) are arranged at the vertices of a polygon corresponding to the polygon ring and, in the case of ring-shaped buildings (R) comprising an odd-numbered polygon ring, said ring-shaped buildings are arranged in an alternating fashion, in each case offset through an angle of 180°, at the vertices of a polygon having twice the number of vertices, and that the ring-shaped buildings (R) following one another along the polygon are connected by passages () which run between the storeys () of the mutually opposite connecting sectors with a corresponding storey offset. 114345563131.
