When the right piston is actuated, the entire structure is moved to the left via a lever as a pendulum. At the same time lower row of teeth of one-side action engages gear wheel, installed on power take-off shaft, rotating it clockwise. When the left piston is actuated, the pendulum system moves to the right. Then one-side upper teeth are started to work, which continue to rotate the power take-off shaft also clockwise. Fluid medium system includes reservoir (15) and the line connected to reservoir (15) for fluid medium inlet from reservoir (15) to inlet opening (1) in housing (19) wall. Opening (1) is open at least to one end (27) of shaft (25). At least one cavity of the piston and/or opening (30) has the possibility of being filled through openings (26) made in shaft (25). Fluid medium is drained from the cavity of the piston and/or at least one opening (30) in the direction of surfaces (3) of pistons, which face inner side (2) of housing (19). In the block head there is a sector with two combustion chambers, which is kinematically connected by means of a gear transmission to the desmodromic type gas distributing mechanism. In the unit there is a ball belt with a rigidly fixed friction disc separating the inner spherical chamber of the engine into three non-communicating parts: two working chambers and crankcase of the engine, crankshaft with cantilever seat belt and spring-loaded ring, made with possibility of pressure on friction disk with formation of synchronization system. Center of spherical chamber is located on intersecting axes of ball belt, sector and crankshaft. Ball belt and sector are connected to each other and are made with possibility of rotation together with crankshaft, on which flywheel is rigidly fixed. The present invention relates to a positive displacement spherical device comprising a housing having a generally spherical cavity of chamber therein with a diametrically extending piston positioned between a pair of rotating wedgeshaped pistons which have their axes disposed at an angle with respect to each other so that rotation of the wedge-shaped pistons causes the central diametrically disposed piston to simultaneously rotate and oscillate to thus positively displace fluids between the adjacent surfaces of the central piston and the end pistons. The present invention also includes seal means for sealing piston to piston and piston to housing in such spherical displacement device to prevent leakage from the high pressure to the low pressure chambers formed between the pistons in the housing. Such spherical displacement device can be used either as a pump, compressor or gas expander and, with the addition of suitable ignition apparatus, as an internal combustion engine.

1492890 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines E M RYLEWSKI 31 Dec 1975 [3 Jan 1975] 53276/75 Heading F1F In a machine which is similar to that described in Specification 1392105 with reference to Figs. 1-6 of the drawings thereof and may be adapted for use as an I.C. engine, a compressor, a hydraulic or gas motor, or a pump, the effective width of the passages between the spiral ribs 41 on the stator 11 can be altered to vary the output by angular displacement of a device 48 overlying the stator and comprising spiral walls 53 1 , 53 2 , 53 3 extending between blocks 55, 56 on a ring 52 and a ring 51, each of the wheels 20 on the rotor 19 comprising two parts 23, 24, biased in opposite circumferential directions by a spring 30 at each of the vanes so that the latter are accomodable to changes in the passage width. The blocks 55, 56 prevent the working fluid flowing between the outer sides of the spiral walls and the inner sides of the ribs, the said sides of the walls and ribs being placed in contact with one another (as shown in Fig. 1) to achieve maximum output, and the output being reduced by turning the device 48 about its axis so as to separate the said sides of the walls and ribs. The springs 30 in each wheel may be replaced by a single spring (105), Figs. 5 and 6, (not shown), lodged in annular cavities (108, 109) in the inner sides of the two parts of the wheel. As an I.C. engine the machine may have the wheels of the rotor meshing simultaneously with the ribs of two stators 607,609, Fig. 12, air being inducted through a filter 622 and compressed by the vanes engaging with the stator 607 into an annular combustion chamber 626 into which fuel is injected through a nozzle 628. The combustion products expand in the spiral passages of the stator 609 and thereafter, are discharged'through an annular channel 632.

The engine consists of a single bladed main rotor rotating in a cylindrical casing. A valve rotor mounted on an axis in the plane of the main rotor but outside the casing is synchronised with the main rotor so that a cut-out in the valve rotor allows the main rotor blade to pass through the valve rotor disc once every revolution. As the blade of the main rotor passes past the valve disc the volume of the annular space between main rotor and casing increases and is supplied with the working fluid which exerts a force on the rotor whilst the fluid is expelled from the space on the other side of the blade.

A sliding vane pump or motor has a working chamber formed by a cylinder (1) between two end plates (2) and containing a fixed block (3) with radial slots for the vanes (5). These vanes are caused to slide parallel to the axis of the drum by a ball type cam (6) attached to each end. These cams are secured to the drive spindle (7) through the middle which has a stepped blind hole one end with inlet and outlet ports (11) at the two respective parts of the blind hole, communicating with the chambers between the blades. A journalled rotor assembly having combustion cavities in each of opposing faces thereof receives a combustible fluid. A main cam carried by an output shaft which is integral with the rotor assembly drives intermittent-motion cams carried on transfer shafts. Transfer plates integral with the transfer shafts and captively movable within housings rotate into and out of the combustion cavities so as to define the variable working volumes of each cavity. With each of the firings, the rotor is caused to spin in a direction opposite with respect to the relative rotational direction of the respective transfer plates.
