FIELD: engines and pumps. SUBSTANCE: proposed inventions can be used in marine diesels. The system comprises, at least, one lubricating device incorporating a control shaft running, preferably, in phase with the diesel main shaft. The system uses no mechanical linkage between the said lubricating device and the main shaft. It incorporates an AC motor driving the control shaft. Note that the system is furnished with support appliances coupled with the main shaft to indicate its angular position and those to monitor the position of the aforesaid support appliances. Mind that the system comprises the control unit receiving the signals from monitoring appliances and comprising the means of defining the support appliance angular position and speed, hence those of the main shaft. The said control unit is connected to the AC motor to adjust the control shaft rotation and to drive the reciprocating pumps lubing the cylinder. The lubrication method is also described. The cylinder sleeve (1) is equipped with electromechanical vibrators, which are piezoelectric plates (4) equipped with electrical contacts for supplying alternating electric voltage to them. Vibrators in the amount of two pieces are located on the outer surface of the sleeve (1) of the cylinder at a distance from 1/3 to 1/2 of the height of the sleeve (1) of the cylinder from its upper edge. Vibrators are made in the form of two diametrically arranged arc-shaped conical piezoelectric plates (4) rigidly attached to the outer surface of the cylinder sleeve (1) in the plane of the connecting rod swing. The angular length of the arc-shaped piezoelectric plates (4) of vibrators in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder is from 20 to 30 degrees. The angle of inclination of the cones of the plates (4) of vibrators to the axis of the sleeve (1) of the cylinder is from 30 to 45 degrees to create transverse-longitudinal ultrasonic mechanical vibrations of the working inner surface of the sleeve (1) of the cylinder when starting the engine and in the mode of its post-start heating. An internal combustion engine is provided. Facing pistons eliminate a cylinder head, thereby reducing heat losses through a cylinder head. Facing pistons also halve the stroke that would be required for one piston to provide the same compression ratio, and the engine can thus be run at higher revolutions per minute and produce more power. An internal sleeve valve is provided for space and other considerations. A combustion chamber size-varying mechanism allows for adjustment of the minimum size of an internal volume to increase efficiency at partial-power operation. Variable intake valve operation is used to control engine power.

[Also in Division F2] In a device for metering a liquid, whose viscosity varies with temperature, to the intake of an I.C. engine, a flexible diaphragm 21 responds to suction of the engine which varies with the speed of the engine, so as to actuate a first element 40 of a valve; and a temperatureresponsive member 57 actuates a second element 59 of the valve. The diaphragm divides a housing 10 having a transparent cap 13 into chambers 23, 24, the upper chamber 23 containing the valve and communicating, via a bore 28 in the housing, with a coupling 27 leading to the intake manifold; the lower chamber 24 containing the liquid such as lubricant and being connected by a tube 32 with a tank 38. The liquid is transferred from the lower chamber 24 to the upper chamber 23 via a tube 41 which is carried by and passes through the diaphragm, the pressure differential causing the raising of the lubricant. The first valve element 40 is mounted on the tube 41 and includes a valve-seat 53. In operation, increases in the intake manifold vacuum cause the diaphragm 21 to flex upwardly so that the first valve element 40 moves towards the second valve element 59 to reduce the opening between the valve seat 53 and a valve needle 60. Conversely when the manifold vacuum decreases the valve opening increases. Additionally the changes of viscosity of the liquid caused by changes in temperature are compensated by the member 57 which bends when an increase of temperature occurs to bring the second valve element 59 towards the first valve element 40 so as to restrict the valve opening. Conversely a drop in temperature would increase the valve opening. The rate of flow is adjusted by a screw 58 mounted in the housing 10 and which rocks the member 57 about a fulcrum 56.

An oil squirter for an engine includes a piston-type valve having a damping vent configured to damp oscillations of the valve piston during opening and closing. The valve piston may be spring biased and the valve may opened by oil pressure exerted on the piston at or above a cracking pressure. The damping vent controls displacement of the valve piston by creating delta pressure in oil contained in a piston chamber in opposition to axial piston movement during opening and closing of the valve, to stabilize the axial movement of the piston thereby damping valve oscillation during valve opening and closing. The damping vent operates to increase cracking stability and eliminate cyclic contact of the valve piston and valve seat to prevent noise, wear, binding, and oil system pressure fluctuations due to squirter valve instability.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Einfülleinrichtung (10) für eine Verbrennungskraftmaschine, mit einem Einfüllstutzen (12), welcher einen eine Einfüllöffnung (16) und eine Austrittsöffnung (18) umfassenden Einfüllkanal (14) aufweist, über welchen über die Einfüllöffnung (16) in den Einfüllkanal (14) eingefülltes und über die Austrittsöffnung (18) aus dem Einfüllkanal (14) ausströmendes Schmieröl in einen Zylinderkopf der Verbrennungskraftmaschine einfüllbar ist, wobei ein mit dem Einfüllstutzen (12) eine Baueinheit (20) bildendes, in einem Abstand zu der Austrittsöffnung (18) angeordnetes und zumindest einen Teilbereich der Austrittsöffnung (18) überdeckendes Spritzschutzelement (22) vorgesehen ist, mittels welchem in Einbaulage der Einfülleinrichtung (10) zumindest ein Teilbereich einer an dem Zylinderkopf gelagerten Nockenwelle (13) zu der Austrittsöffnung (16) hin zu überdecken ist.

Providing a gas engine in which the drain oil in the blow-by gas as a lubricant is mixed into the air fuel-gas mixture, the lubricant actively lubricating the bearing surfaces of the wear parts such as the valve seats and valve guides as to the intake-air valve and the exhaust gas valve, so that the lubricating device improves the engine lubricating conditions. A lubrication device for a gas engine thereby a valve gear room 6 is formed on a cylinder head, including: a blow-by gas discharge pipe 3 through which the blow-by gas flowing into the valve gear room 6 is discharged; whereby, an oil mist separator 4 is arranged at the downstream side of the blow-by gas discharge pipe, the oil mist separator separating the drain oil and the air in the blow-by gas; the outlet regarding the drain oil from the oil mist separator communicates with an oil discharge device 1 through an oil pipe 3 s , the an oil discharge device being arranged at an upstream side of a gas mixer 110 mixing the fuel gas with the intake air for the engine, the upstream being in relation to the intake air; the outlet regarding the air from the oil mist separator communicates with an air inlet of the air cleaner 25 for the engine intake air, through a breathing pipe 5.
