It is designed for use by civilians for the purpose of self-defense by a shot of traumatic elements for repulse of an attack due to painful action causing a shock state. SUBSTANCE: in the traumatic cartridge for the barrelless weapon, having a cartridge case, powder charge, ignition element and a traumatic element, the ignition element represents an electric primer and a gas generator pressed in the cartridge case. The traumatic element is made as a rubber bullet with a metal slug used for non-extraction of the rubber bullet. The bullet is rolled up in the body of the gas generator. The electric primer and the gas generator may be made as a single part or separately. The cartridge case may be made of a high-strength aluminium alloy or reinforced plastic. The traumatic element for the barrelless weapon is manufactured of elastic material and made as a bullet with a metal slug used for non-extraction. The bullet consists of two parts, the head and the tail, connected by a jumper. The bullet tail outside diameter is less than that of the head. The bullet may be manufactured of rubber. The cartridged ammunition comprises a projectile (11) and a cartridge case (10) receiving the latter. The cartridge case (10) contains a cartridge (12) limiting a high-pressure space (21) in which a propelling charge (14) is located. The cartridge (12) is surrounded by a low-pressure space (10a) limited by the inside walls of the cartridge case (10) and a part of the base of the projectile (11). At the rear of the projectile (11) a tracer composition (11b) is arranged in a tube (27) which protrudes through the upper wall of the cartridge (12) into the high-pressure space (21). Projectile and cartridge case are interconnected via a rated breaking point (12d). The pressure for expelling the projectile (11) from the cartridge case is supplied by the pressure both in the high-pressure space (21) and in the low-pressure space (10a). Upon expulsion the volume of the high-pressure space (21) is furthermore enlarged when the tracer composition is pulled out thereof. These measures avoid steep pressure peaks in the march of pressure upon expulsion of the projectile. At the same time, approximately the entire projectile volume is available for a service charge.

Traumatic cartridge and traumatic element for a barrelless weapon

The invention relates to cartridges for a portable barrelless weapon for self-defence. Said weapon can be used by civil persons for self-defence by shooting with traumatic elements. The inventive cartridge comprises a cartridge case, a powder charge, an ignition element embodied in the form of an electrical ignition fuse and a gas generator pressed into the cartridge case, in addition to a traumatic element embodied in the form of a rubber bullet provided with a metallic core which prevents the extraction of the bullet. The bullet is rolled inside the body of the gas generator. The electrical ignition fuse and the gas generator can be embodied in the form of a single part or be embodied separately. The cartridge case can be made of a high resistant aluminium alloy or reinforced plastic material. The inventive traumatic element for a barrelless weapon is made of a flexible metal and embodied in the form of a bullet provided with a metallic core which prevents the extraction of the bullet. The bullet consists of two parts, i.e. the head part and the tail part connected to each other with the aid of a strap. The tail part of the bullet has an external diameter which is less than the diameter of the head part. The bullet can be made of rubber. The invention excludes the possibility of bad wounding by the cartridge and the bullet at a distance equal to or greater than 1 meter and ensures a stopping effect at a distance equal to or less than 10 meters.

The cartridge is charged with a given charge of powder (38) and the cap or head (14) securely fastened to the rearward portion of the plastic casing. An expandable sleeve (124) may be used to stabilize the head-casing interfit. The head provides sufficient resistance to the residual pressure after firing so that the cartridge can be used in rapid fire automatic weapons.

Main propellant charge 36 is positioned around control tube 24 and round 26. A booster charge 32 is positioned with control tube 24. Axial growth of casing 12 compresses spring fingers 62 retract end seals 20, 22 after firing. Radial expansion of cartridge case 64 is accommodated by elastic deformation of the casing.

The proposed fixed ammunition comprises a projectile (11) and a cartridge case (10) which holds it. The cartridge (12) is surrounded by a low-pressure chamber (10a) defined by the inner walls of the caratridge case (10) and part of the base of the projectile (11). On the rear-end side of the projectile (11), a tracer charge (11b) is contained in a tube (27) which protrudes through the upper wall of the cartridge (12) into the high-pressure chamber (21). Projectile and cartridge case are joined via a breaking line (12d). Pressure to expel the projectile (11) from the cartridge case is provided by the pressure in both the high-pressure chamber (21) and the low-pressure chamber (10a). When the projectile is expelled, extraction of the tracer charge from the high-pressure chamber (21) increases the volume of the latter. These measures prevent steep pressure peaks in the pressure curve when the projectile is expelled. At the same time, virtually the entire projectile volume is available for an effective charge.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cartridge case 68 for a cased telescoped ammunition round 10. Cartridge case 68 includes a hollow cylindrical casing 12 fabricated from a material which undergoes elastic deformation when round 10 is fired from a gun, a rear seal 20 and a front seal 22. A control tube is secured to rear seal 20 and a primer is mounted to be in communication with the interior of control tube 24. Casing 12 has an axis of symmetry 18 which is also the axis of symmetry of round 10, and control tube 24. Seals 20, 22 each have side walls 48, 48' in which crimp grooves 56, 56' are formed. Each crimp groove includes a cam surface 58, 58'. Rear and front portions 14, 16 of casing 12 are crimped into grooves 58, 58'. A projectile 26 provided with a booster piston 28 is mounted within round 10 with piston 28 being located within control tube 24. The main propellant charge 38 is positioned around control tube 24 and round 26, and a booster charge is positioned with control tube 24. When round 10 is fired, axial growth of casing 12 forces portion 14, 16 to ride up cam surfaces 58, 58' expanding them. When the pressure within casing 68 returns to normal, the expanded parts of portions 14, 16 act to retract end seals 20, 22.

The ammunition includes a projectile (11) and a cartridge case (10) accommodating the projectile (11). The cartridge case 10 includes a cartridge 12 defining a high pressure space 21 in which the propulsion charge 14 is located. The cartridge 12 is surrounded by a low pressure space 10a defined by the inner walls of the cartridge case 10 and the base portion of the projectile 11. [ At the rear of the projectile, a tracker composition (11b) is arranged in the tube (27) projecting into the high pressure space (21) through the upper wall of the cartridge (12). The projectile and the cartridge case are connected to each other via the rated breaking point 12d. The pressure for emitting the projectile 11 from the cartridge case is supplied by the pressure in the high-pressure space 21 and the low-pressure space 10a. The volume of the high pressure space (21) at launch is further increased when the tracer composition is pulled out of it. Such a device avoids steep pressure peaks in the pressure evolution when launching the projectile. At the same time, approximately the entire projectile volume is available for service charging.

1. A training cartridge has a synthetic resin projectile or dummy projectile wherein the projectile or dummy projectile is integrally molded to a synthetic resin sleeve or tube open at the rear end. The sleeve is inserted from the front end of a cartridge case of metal that is open at its front end. The sleeve is held within the cartridge case by drawing the cartridge case inwards, after insertion of the synthetic resin sleeve, in its frontal zone to form a conical case shoulder and a cylindrical case neck, which shoulder and neck encompass the synthetic resin sleeve in firm contact therewith. This arrangement achieves clean separation of the projectile from the remainder of the synthetic resin sleeve and/or avoids uncontrolled tearing off of parts of the synthetic resin sleeve.
