This lump sum payment represents an appropriate budget that enables the patient to pay all anticipated expenses arising from that insurable event or events directly to the providers, hospitals, and pharmacies of his choice.

This invention relates to a system for medical treatment with consultation (the consultation system) and its method, designed to support several physicians located at different place and time to access the system at a designated time, share medical records on a patient and conduct medical treatment with consultation. To this end, this invention comprises the following stages: receiving a consultation request from at least one of the hospital terminals, physician terminals, and patient terminals; selecting at least more than one consulting physicians to participate in the consultation according to the said consultation request; receiving the medical records of a patient subject to said consultation from at least one of the hospital servers, hospital terminals, physician terminals, or patient terminals, providing the medical records to the consulting physicians, and conducting consultation pursuant to the registered consultation schedule by controlling communications among the said hospital terminals, physician terminals, and patient terminals; and transmitting the consultation progress information including the consultation schedule, consulting opinions received from the consulting physicians, and consultation data registered according to the consulting opinions to at least one of the hospital terminals, physician terminals, and patient terminals.

What is disclosed is a novel system and method for extracting photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals (i.e., cardiac signals) on a continuous basis from signals generated from video images captured of a subject being monitored for cardiac function in a non-contact remote sensing environment. In one embodiment, a time-series signal is received. The time-series signal is generated from video images captured of a region of exposed skin where a PPG signal of a subject of interest can be registered. The time-series signal is then divided into batches for processing, with successive batches having at least a 95% overlap with a previous batch. Each of the batches of time-series signals is processed to obtain a PPG signal from each batch. A mid-point of each of these PPG-signals is stitched together to obtain a continuous PPG signal for the subject. The continuous PPG signal for the subject can then viewed on a display device.
