Для соединения разрядного рога с присоединительной шиной на крепежной полке разрядного рога предусмотрены выступ, а на присоединительной шине - принимающая выступ выемка. Крепежные средства захватывают расположенную на нижней стороне присоединительной шины перемычку. При вдвигании присоединительной шины с наложенным разрядным рогом его крепежная полка сверху и сбоку перекрывается расположенной на корпусе закраиной. Таким образом, крепежная полка является свободной от крепежных средств. A switch 2 actuating mechanism, eg for an electrically-powered lawnmower, comprises lost motion means 9 which may be either in the form of a leaf spring, made of steel or polymer (eg acetal polymer), or a coil spring. The spring 9 takes up movement of actuating member 8 when member 8 is pressed by lever 3a and safety interlock button 7 is not operated, which retains release slide 6, of the switch 2, in its non-operating position. The lawnmower is started by first pressing lever 3, against handle H, and then depressing button 7, or vice versa, so as to release the slide 6 which is biassed into its operating position by the spring 9 (see fig 3). Damage to lever 3 is minimised since only the load of the spring 9 is transferred to the lever 3 If an operator attempts to start the lawnmower without depressing button 6. In addition slight relaxation of grip by the operator will not cause the switch 2 to turn off as the mechanism provides adequate over-travel.

The invention is a pivoting handle and control arrangement for a floor care appliance such as a vacuum cleaner. An actuator rod in the handle is utilized for remotely triggering a switch located in the lower part of the housing. The switch could be utilized for controlling a feature of the floor care appliance such as a surge control for a vacuum cleaner's suction motor. A trigger positioned on the handle is operatively connected to an actuator rod traversing the interior of the handle. The distal end of the actuator rod is in operative engagement with the switch when the handle is in the upright position. When the trigger is depressed, the actuator rod depresses the switch causing it to close. The feature controlled is thereby energized. When the handle is moved to the folded position, the actuator rod is folded with the handle and moved away from the switch.

A trigger retention mechanism for a device that includes a depressible trigger and a bushing releasably coupled to a housing by a releasable fastener, such as an E-clip. The retention mechanism can also include O-rings to provide an air-tight seal between the bushing and the housing. To replace the retention mechanism, a user need only release the fastener and pull the bushing outwardly from its position within the housing, rather than replacing the entire handle or trigger assembly.

An electrical switching device is disclosed herein and comprises the major components suitable for use as a compact, easily installed switching device and also in an electro-surgical tool which, through the operation of the switching device, is readily adaptable for different intended uses and highly reliable. In one embodiment, the switching device includes a tubular housing having an intermediate longitudinally extending slot formed in its wall and a pair of longitudinally extending diametrically opposed recesses formed on its inner surface. A rectangularly shaped printed circuit board is mounted within the diametrically opposed recesses and includes at least three spaced apart electrical contacts which are positioned so as to be accessable through the slot formed in the housing. An integrally formed, elongated spring contact member is disposed in electrical conducting engagement with the center one of these electrical contacts and includes opposing energy absorbing coils, each of which is adapted to engage reliably a corresponding one of the otherwise free contacts. In this regard, in order to increase further the reliability of the engagement of the contacts, means are provided for securing the printed circuit board against inadvertent longitudinal movement within the housing. An arcuately shaped insert is mounted within the aforedescribed slot and engages portions of the lower surface of the circuit board for further securing said insert in place. In addition, the arcuately shaped insert includes a longitudinally extending slot adapted to receive therein a portion of a longitudinally extending rocker type switch actuator for pivotal movement about an axis generally normal to the axis of alignment of the electrical contacts. The free ends of the aforedescribed spring contact member are positioned within recess guides formed in the actuator and move into engagement with their corresponding contacts in response to selective pivotal movement.

Once the elastomer cures, the elastomeric seal seals the components and mechanisms within the housing partial-section. The elastomeric seal defines a flexible first opening at a distal end of the electrosurgical device to accommodate varying diameters of electrodes or blades connected to the nose area of the electrosurgical device. An actuator seal is also provided on the actuator area of the electrosurgical device to prevent fluids and contaminants from entering the electrosurgical device through the actuator area. Two buttons are insert molded within the actuator seal and are operatively associated with a self-cleaning switching mechanism within the housing section to operate the electrosurgical device between a cutting and coagulating mode. The actuator seal is also manufactured from a thermoplastic elastomer or resin.

The trigger assembly includes a number of moving magnets located adjacent the sealed housing that contains the circuitry forming the motor control module. There are a set of magnetic field sensors in the motor control module housing. As the magnets are displaced in response to the user's actuation of the switches, the sensors generate signals representative of the user-selected motor commands. The motor control module further includes a motor control circuit and a direction controller circuit that allow the motor to be driven in either forward, reverse or oscillatory rotation. When the motor is driven the oscillatory rotation, the direction control circuit and the motor control circuit cooperate to ensure the periodic reversal of the motor does not generate significant mechanical vibrations.

The switching mechanism is particularly suitable for a hedge clipper or chainsaw, especially a cordless tool.

A speed control subassembly is made by providing a generally flat heat sink plate having a laterally-formed collector strip at its upper edge. A double-sided-adhesive insulator tape strip is stuck to the heat sink, this tape having a hole large enough to receive a thyristor chip so that the thyristor anode contacts the heat sink with solder paste therebetween. Two formed terminal strips extending in opposite directions are stuck to the tape so that one contacts the cathode and the other contacts the gate of the thyristor chip with solder paste therebetween. A chip capacitor is placed across the terminal strips with solder paste therebetween. A small force is applied to the capacitor and then heat is applied to the stack of parts to solder the parts together and to the heat sink and to set the adhesive resin. This subassembly is then placed into a trigger switch housing and connected to the contacts and variable resistor thereof to provide a trigger speed control switch for portable tools.
