The parallel inductor causes the locus of input impedance of the antenna matching circuit to draw a small circle locus in the first quadrant of a Smith chart. The parallel capacitor is adjustable to move the small circle locus to the center on the Smith chart.

An adjustable multiband antenna especially intended to mobile terminals. The antenna structure comprises a radiator ( 320 ), a feed element ( 330 ) and an adjusting circuit ( 350 ). The radiator is a conductive part of the outer cover (COV) of a radio device or conductive coating of the cover. It is fed electromagnetically by a feed element which is isolated from the radiator by a relatively thin dielectric substrate. The feed element is connected either directly or through an intermediate element ( 340 ) to the antenna port of the device and to the ground plane ( 310 ), and it is shaped so that the antenna has at least two operating bands. The adjusting circuit is connected to an adjusting point (AP) in the feed element, and the reactance between the adjusting point and ground and thus the electric size of the antenna can be changed by means of a switch (SW) in the adjusting circuit. Among other things, the component values of the adjusting circuit and the distance between the short-circuit (SP) and adjusting (AP) points in the feed element are variables from the point of view of the antenna adjustment. Displacements, which have desired directions and lengths, are obtained for at least two operation bands of the antenna independently from each other by changing the switch state. The efficiency of the antenna is better than of the corresponding known antennas, and its matching can be made good both in lower and upper operating band of the antenna.

A Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna on a substrate includes first and second antennas defined in axial symmetry, a coupling portion, and a grounding portion. The substrate includes a first surface and an opposite second surface. Each of the antennas includes a feeding portion, a radiating portion, and a matching portion. The feeding portion feeds electromagnetic signals to the antenna. The radiating portion radiates the electromagnetic signals, and is in a meandering “S” pattern. A length of the radiating portion is substantially equal to a quarter wavelength of the electromagnetic signals. The matching portion implements impedance matching between the feeding portion and the radiating portion. The coupling portion is located between the first antenna and the second antenna and is serpentine shape. A length of the coupling portion is substantially equal to a half wavelength of the electromagnetic signals. The grounding portion is located on both the first and second surface.

First and second slots are respectively positioned between the shared ground connection and the respective first and second feeds such that the slots create inductances. An internal dual band antenna meant for small radio devices. In one embodiment, the antenna contains two radiators and a parasite element, which is shared between them. The parasite element is implemented on three sides of the antenna module, which are perpendicular to the side where the two radiators are implemented. The short-circuit conductor of the parasite element extends close to the supply point/points of the antenna on the circuit board of the radio device and is connected to the ground plane of the radio device. The antenna structure is dimensioned such that the two resonance frequencies on both functional bands are at a lower frequency than the resonance frequencies of the actual radiators. Accordingly, both the lower and upper frequency band is widened. The shape of the parasite element does not weaken the adaptation of the antenna in either functional band.

An antenna or set of antennae for a wireless device is provided by embedding the antennae into the battery case or generally the surface area of a wireless phone. The antenna connections are through the battery's connections to the wireless device. The antenna can be located at the back surface of the battery or the rear surface of a wireless phone, facing away from the user. An RF shielding device can be embedded into the battery and configured in relation to the antenna such that the RF field intensity and the consequent specific absorption rate for the user is lowered while the outgoing signals of the wireless device remain fully adequate for the function of the wireless device. This feature is preserved for a multi-band operation because a digital phase shifter is used between two radiating antennae. An external case is used as a complement to the wireless phone.

The circuit board is received in the receiving space and has a first electrically connecting portion. The antenna module is received in the receiving space and has a second electrically connecting portion corresponding in position to the first electrically connecting portion. The elastic conductive element is disposed between the circuit board and the antenna module and corresponds in position to the first and second electrically connecting portions. The elastic conductive element produces an elastic deforming force to enable electrical connection between the first and second electrically connecting portions and thereby enable electrical connection between the circuit board and the antenna module, thereby facilitating assembly and dispensing with a cable otherwise required to connect the antenna module and the circuit board.

In an antenna device, first linear portions of a coil conductor are located on a lower surface of a first resin sheet. Second linear portions of the coil conductor are located on an upper surface of a second resin sheet. Via conductors of the coil conductor are formed in the first and second resin sheets and intermediate resin sheets located between the first and second resin sheets. The via conductors connect a first end and a second end of the first linear portions and a first end and a second end of the second linear portions, respectively. The first and second linear portions and the via conductors define the coil conductor. Each of the intermediate resin sheets includes an aperture in the center portion thereof. The lamination of the apertures defines a cavity in which a magnetic substance core is embedded. The coil conductor is wound around a periphery of the cavity.
