An insulating bushing extends through the wall of the insulating tube section and the wall of the tubular jacket. The insulating bushing is mounted on a metallic bushing. A head screw clamps the insulating tube section between the tube and the tubular jacket, and a flange of the insulating bushing is clamped between the outside of the tubular jacket and a flange of the metallic bushing. An arc-resistant electrical enclosure includes an arresting system that permits forced-air cooling of the interior region to occur during ordinary operation of the enclosure while resisting the flow of hot gases, plasma, and flames to the exterior of the electrical enclosure in an arc event or other event. An electrical enclosure, such as a Motor Control Centers (MCC), can include a ventilation system providing airflow while protecting from both ingress of solid objects as small as 1.0 millimeter and egress of gasses from an arc flash by providing a protective mesh with holes having a dimension of less than 1 millimeter, a bracket coupled to the mesh for providing a rigid support, and a flap configured to seal against the bracket and block the mesh in response to a pressure wave produced by an arc flash. The flap, normally open for airflow, can close in response to the pressure wave, by bending at a perforation line to move the flap toward the mesh. The electrical enclosure can also include a normally closed exhaust system. The exhaust system can be configured to open in response to the pressure wave to allow the gasses to escape.

A switchgear or control gear includes: at least one first compartment; at least one second compartment; a plurality of main switchgear or control gear components including a main busbar system, a three position linear or rotational movement disconnector, a circuit breaker, and at least a first part of an insulated cable connection; and a plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components including a disconnector drive and a circuit breaker drive. The plurality of main switchgear or control gear components are housed in the at least one first compartment. The plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components are housed in the at least one second compartment. When one or more of the plurality of main switchgear or control gear components is energized, the at least one first compartment is hermetically sealable or maintainable at an internal air pressure greater than ambient air pressure. 1.
