The use of devices, such as Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) devices, enables a user on a call to have the connection seamlessly transition from one network to another. However, a call that is disconnected, either pre-answer or post-answer, leaves the calling party without information as to why the call was disconnected. Herein, systems and signaling methods are provided whereby a reason for a disconnect can be created and passed to the calling party, such as in a text message, to inform the caller of the disconnect reason. Additionally, the reason may be provided to the called party's voicemail. The call server may then connect the calling party to the voicemail and, with the reason code, the voicemail server is able to announce the reason for the disconnect and provide the calling party the opportunity to leave a message for the called party. A method comprising:receiving data indicative of a physical movement of a mobile device;starting a timer in response to the physical movement of the mobile device;monitoring the mobile device until the timer reaches a predetermined time limit;determining whether one or more notifications are received at the mobile device;determining whether a responsive action responsive to the one or more notifications is taken at the mobile device; andin response to the timer reaching the predetermined time limit without the responsive action, defining a customized mute status for the mobile device,wherein the responsive action is an outgoing communication responsive to the one or more notifications, or the responsive action is an input to the mobile device responsive to the one or more notifications.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the physical movement corresponds to placement of the mobile device in an unusable orientation.3. A method for capturing outgoing voice messages , comprising:displaying, on a mobile communications device equipped with a display and a memory device, a graphical user interface (GUI) which enables the user to make a telephone call;in response to input on the GUI by the user identifying a second party to call, placing a call to the second party;determining that the user is leaving a voice message on a recording device associated with the second party; andrecording the voice message on the mobile communications device.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the user is leaving a voice message on a recording device associated with the second party comprises:monitoring the call to the second party; andwhen a tone is detected on the call from the recording device associated with the second party which indicates that the user is being asked to leave a message, recording the subsequent message.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein recording the subsequent message includes associating a caller ID and time stamp with the message.4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:sending a copy of the recorded message to at least one designated recipient via electronic mail.5. In some embodiments a method for providing answering service via an answering device comprises associating an answering service for a telephone number of a user with the answering device; enabling the answering device to receive at least one call targeted to the telephone number originating from a caller device; starting a call secession between the caller device and the answering device; responding to the call by sending to the caller device through the call session an answering message; detecting information related to an alternative communication channel different from the call session; and sending or receiving information via the alternative communication channel. 1. A method for providing a voice mail service , the method comprising:associating a first telephone line with a mobile device, the first telephone line being at least one of a plurality of secondary lines of the mobile device;providing a software application for receiving at least one communication session corresponding to the first telephone line;routing the at least one communication session to a second telephone line, the second telephone line corresponding to a business or home of the user of the mobile device; andactivating a voicemail service via the software application to store voice messages by a caller initiating the at least one communication session in response to a reaching predetermined number of rings at a terminal of the second telephone line, wherein the software application stores the voice messages on a memory of the mobile device.2.
