The AMS then generates the group service flow in cooperation with the ABS in accordance with the AAI_DSA-REQ message.

Systems and methods for locating a user of a wired or wireless communication device allow a communication device to respond to a location request with its current location or a default location. A request for the location of a target wireless communication device is sent to the network where the request is responded to by the network or forwarded to the target device. When the request is received by the target device, the device can deny the location request or respond to the location request with the actual location of the device (as determined by GPS or the network) or with a default, predetermined location. The type of response (denial, actual location, or default location) can be selected by the user of the target device on a granular, per request basis so that the user of the target device can selectively respond to location requests in an appropriate fashion.

The method also includes, when the LBS-zone exists, and the MS measures a reference signal sent by a neighbor BS in the LBS-zone, receiving, by the MS, the reference signal in the LBS-zone, which is sent by the neighbor BS and used for locating the MS, according to the instruction message. The method also includes measuring, by the MS, the reference signal, and sending a measurement result to the serving BS. Using embodiments of the invention, the MS may be enabled to obtain information of the LBS-zone accurately, so as to implement normal measurement for the LBS-zone and measurement result feedback.

Preferably, the user equipment decodes the received information on the group deletion of the user equipment. The user equipment successfully decodes the information on the group deletion and is then able to transmit the acknowledgement (ACK) signal about the received information on the group deletion to the base station.

A method of transmitting a message to user equipment within a telecommunications network, a controller operable to transmit a message to user equipment within a telecommunications network, a base station and a computer program product are disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: receiving a message having message content to be transmitted to user equipment within a predefined geographical area of the telecommunications network; identifying at least one multicast IP address designated as being associated with base stations providing telecommunications coverage with user equipment within the predefined geographical area; and transmitting the message content within at least one multicast message, each multicast message using a corresponding one of the at least one multicast IP address, over an IP network to base stations providing telecommunications coverage within the predetermined geographical area for onward transmission to user equipment. In this way, each base station identified by the multicast IP address will simultaneously receive the message, rather than each individual base station needing to have its own dedicated message sent to each base station sequentially. This not only significantly speeds the time taken for identified base stations to receive the message, it also reduces the amount of traffic required since the message is transmitted in a multicast manner. Furthermore, only those base stations which are associated with the multicast IP address will act on the message, all other base stations may ignore it. This helps to ensure that the message is only relayed to user equipment in a particular geographical region, rather than being delivered to all user equipment supported by all base stations associated with a particular controller.

The social topography data defines user affinity concentrations across the desired geographic bounding region. A social topography map may then be generated and presented to a requesting user based on the social topography data generated for the desired geographic bounding region.

Outdoor tracking methods may be implemented to enhance outdoor tracking data by combining tracking estimates such as inertial tracks with magnetic data, compass data, and/or with GPS, if and when available.

The dead spot region locations transmitted by the vehicles are sent back to the vehicles such that each vehicle has access to ones of the dead spot region locations sensed by other ones of the vehicles. The dead spot regions are mitigated, within the vehicles, by use of the sent dead spot region locations.

A moving body terminal is basically provided with a position information acquiring section, a receiving section and a control section. The position information acquiring section is configured to acquire position information indicating a current position of the moving body terminal. The receiving section is configured to receive from an information providing apparatus simple map information which includes information transmission determining information indicating an information transmission unnecessary region of the simple map information where the position information of the moving body terminal is not required to be transmitted from the moving body terminal to the information providing apparatus. The control section is configured to prohibit a transmission of the position information to the information providing apparatus when the position information acquired by the position information acquiring section is inside the information transmission unnecessary region contained in the simple map information that was received.

A method executes a speed detector and a timer to answer a phone call while a user is driving. The user can set a predetermined velocity of a mobile phone and a predetermined time period to determine whether to answer the phone call while the user is driving. When the mobile phone receives the phone call, if a velocity detected from the speed detector is greater that the predetermined velocity, the timer starts to count a time. If the counted time is greater than the predetermined time period, the mobile phone answers the phone call automatically.
