In an oscillator comprising cross-coupled grounded-grid and cathode-follower stages, a further cathode-follower stage is associated with the first and a feedback circuit including a negative temperature coefficient thermistor is connected between the cathode of the further cathode follower and the cathode of the grounded grid stage to maintain the amplitude of oscillation constant. In the Figure the oscillation comprises valves V1 and V2 with a crystal K in one of the coupling circuits. The output of the oscillator is fed to a cathode-follower valve V3 which feeds a buffer amplifier valve V4 and an amplitude stabilizing feedback circuit including thermistor T.
