Реферат: In the production of spun yarn, at least two batches of cellulosic filamentous or fibrous material e.g. viscose rayon, cotton or flax, are given similar shrinkage treatments but to different degrees to impart different shrinkage properties to the material of the respective batchs. The treatment may comprise subjection of the material to a shrinking agent such as caustic soda, or to a cross-linking agent such as dimethylol ethylene urea, or, in the case of viscose rayon material, drying the wet material under different degrees of strain. The yarn, before or after formation into fabric, is bulked by subjection to uniform treatment e.g. wetting with water, whereby the filaments or fibres shrink differentially, and may be set by a cross-linking treatment. The final yarn may comprise a compact core surrounded by an open fibrous structure.
