An Improved Intermitter or Automatic Distributer for the Discharge of Intermittent Quantities of Sewage or Liquids of any Description.
Реферат: 19,920. Coleman, T. Sept. 16. Sewage, treating; filtering.-An automatic apparatus for the supply of intermittent and variable quantities of sewage from tanks and channels to filter beds, or for the flushing of sewage and other liquids, consists of a pivoted beam A carrying mercury cups at its ends connected by a tube, and having rigidly attached to it a weighted bar B', working between stops C, D. The beam actuates the valve, the valve-rod being fixed in a slot G. A float is attached to a bell-crank lever working between adjustable stops E, F on the bar B<1>, so that on the rising of the float the bar B<1> and beam A are thrown over and held in the new position by the mercury flowing into the lower cup, the beam opening the valve. The valve is closed when the weight of the float restores the beam to its original position.
