Loom shuttle-relief motions. - The "breaktongue" or swell h is drawn back out of contact with the shuttle, as it is picked from the shuttle box, by means of a lever f pivoted to the lay e. The lever f is connected by means of a spring d and rod c to an extension a' of the arm a, employed to impart motion to the picking-lever b. A spring normally pulls the lever f against the lay, and a pin k limits the extent of movement of the lever f, when pulled away from the path of the shuttle.
